Judge Larry is Ready for His Close-Up

Looks like you can add Judge Larry Seidlin to the list of folks who potentially stand to profit from Anna Nicole's untimely death.

While presiding over the custody case of the fallen star's body, the Bronx-born probate judge took center stage with a perplexing show of melodramatic tears and grief (um, don't judges, like, deal with this kind of stuff all the time?).

And since nothing makes better reality TV than a small-time, aging arbiter with dreams of celebrity, Extra reports that Seidlin's assistant, Joann Gallo, has been fielding offers from all the big networks. "He has gotten a mind-numbing amount of requests," says Gallo.

CBS is supposedly hoping to incorporate the 56-year-old legal mind into a new segment for the Early Show called "Morning Justice." According to Extra, the show's senior producer, Michael Rosen, is said to have written a letter to Seidlin stating that he's "extremely impressed by [Seidlin's] compassion in the Anna Nicole case."

The judge won't comment on his future endeavors at this point, but we have a feeling welling up inside of us that this is an open and shut case of someone chasing those elusive fifteen minutes.

This "judge" (and I certainly use the term loosely) has made a mockery of the legal system as well as the bench. He should be removed from his position immediately. While watching some footage, it was clear that he was mucking for the camera. This was a circus and a disaster. I am ashamed to be a part of the same system that employs this man.

I think that he was very unproffesional and you could tell that all he cared about was being known all over the world....I dont think that he deserves to be on tv and he is not good...AND man then they way that he talks sooo slowly...it was killing me, even if i watched him for like a minute...i could not stand him !

Teresa--don't get me wrong, I definitely wouldn't want him as my judge. I guess that is just his style--he asked a witness once what their favorite subway sandwich was. I think he is unprofessional to act like that. I am just saying--is there any grounds for any complaint since he didn't break any rules, followed procedure and everything, and got the job done albeit an overly extended route?

I agree with most of the comments about the judge, but to be honest, I was on a jury for a minor drug offense and the case took 6 days, and it should have taken no more than 2 days, our legal system has many flaws. I agree the proceedings were mostly ridiculous, but my understanding was it was an informal hearing as opposed to a formal trial. Further, if the judge did take only one day to rule and did not let all of the parties speak he would have criticized, I think either way this guy would have been criticized and I think many of his comments were inappropriate, he should have not allowed cameras in the room, although I thought the decision was a "no decision" due to the craziness of all of the parties, I believe he made the right call.

Honestly, this guy reminds me of a balding Henry Winkler for some reason, every time I see him he looks like and some of his mannerisms remind me of Henry Winkler.

Is it me or does he look like the mean guy on the movie Ghost with Demi Moore? He reminds me of that one guy that yells "Get off my train" and then teaches Patrick Swayzie (SP) how to touch things and push things over??

CBS This Morning's making a huge mistake in making a segment of their show with that judge guy's so-called 'wisdom'.
Anything having to do with the Anna Nicole Smith debacle/media circus overkill is pure crap to me right now, especially the instant celebrities coming out of that whole thing, Larry Craphead(I mean Birkhead) and Howard K. Stern, among others.

I think that the judge is one sick puppy. He wasted over a week talking like a insane wannabe comedian, stupid crap all while Annas body lay rotting. I think he is the money hungry leech in this case, CBS is giving him a deal, so he is the one who actually is making a profit from her death..sick freakshow judge..makes me sick, all he cared about is getting a tv gig instead of Annas burial

this is the most dumbest thing they could ever do....now the judge can say "if it wasnt for anna nicoles death i would not be here" i cant believe they would let something like this happen ...and plus if he didnt do that dramatic scene of him crying in court the spotlight would not have been on him...goes to show that people are fake in this world to get somewhere :/ stupid !

Are you kidding me? All anyone wants to do is benefit from this poor dead woman. That judge should be ashamed of himself & all he is is DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!! I have NEVER seen a courtroom act in the manner that he has conducted it. I would NEVER watch his show either!! He is such a LOSER & all he cares about is his ratings & what is in it for him!!

Maya, it matters because judges are supposed to remain composed and impartial throughout the hearing. Wouldn't you be frightened if it were YOUR trial on the line? I sure as hell would be.

I think he is a goof and an embarassment to the legal system. But on the other hand, as long as he didn't break rules and got the job done (though it could have been done in one day) i guess it doesn't matter. An attorney I dated after I divorced my first husband did have exposure to him and I guess he is usually like this even when there isn't cameras and others have said the same thing on the news, so I am not sure how much he was playing up for the cameras.

Wow, that is awful. He doesn't deserve his own show- I really hope the public doesn't think thats what judges are suppose to act like. Every judge and lawyer I know was cringing during his crying and carrying on.

Why are the networks willing to reward this judge with a new show? For being an idiot??? What should've taken a few hours to decide, took him 5 DAYS and he gave the most cop-out judgment to top it off!! If he gets his own show, I definately won't be watching.
