Kevin Federline showed up in Times Square on behalf of the penny Wednesday, the New York Daily News reports (although, it's entirely possible he thought Penny was a hot chick). He was hyping Virgin Mobile's new 1-cent text-message service and launch the wireless company's "Save the Penny" fund-raising drive for various unnamed children's organizations.
"What's up, New York!" Federline shouted from a stage after arriving in an armored truck covered in 120,000 pennies. "I'm here with Virgin Mobile to bring the power back to the penny! I feel good about the penny!" Then he sent the first 1-cent text, claiming it went to "my wife."
"I just gave all my pennies to charity!" he announced. "A bunch of charities get these children off the streets - build a better life, build a better future, for these children."
Later, as K-Fed's black SUV was pulling away from the event, NYC's famed "Naked Cowgirl" - a pastie-wearing, guitar-strumming performance artist) - toplessly approached the vehicle. Suddenly, a window rolled halfway down, and a hand came out to give her two $1 bills.
Cynics may tsk tsk K-Fed giving more money to the musician than the children on the streets, but to be fair, the children on the street aren't as hot. Besides, everyone thinks of the children. K-Fed and his No Nipple Pastie Left Behind campaign should be applauded for raising awareness for Naked Cowgirls at risk, who lack the basic means to outfit themselves in glittery, adhesive-based breast-cessories.
