Kanye West's late mother Donda was eulogized and praised by friends and former colleagues Friday at a memorial service held at Chicago State University, where she was the former chairwoman of the English department.

More 300 people gathered in the school's The Breakey Theater at 12:30 p.m. to remember West, who died Saturday at age 58 after a breast reduction and tummy tuck.

“It was a full house,” an attendee tells Usmagazine.com.

According to initial footage, Kanye — who is in London, Us reports — did not attend.

"Everyone who knew Donda knows how much fun she was and how down to earth she was," English and Communications Department Chairwoman Dr. Brenda Eatman Aghahowa told the crowd.

She added, there were "no big I's and no little you's in Donda's department."
