Katherine Heigl: I'd Like to Start a Family Within the Next Year

Following her winter wonderland wedding to musician Josh Kelley, Katherine Heigl says the next step for her is starting a family.

She and Kelley hit the L.A. premiere of her new comedy 27 Dresses Monday.

"I would like to start a family within the next year to year in a half," she told Usmagazine.com as she rubbed her stomach. (Heigl also has expressed interest in adopting.)

As for the wedding, she told Us: "It was truly amazing I think the best part about it was all the friends and family, the love and the show of support."

She wed Kelley in a black-tie ceremony December 23 at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah.

"I wish I could have the first three days prior to the wedding back — they went by really fast," she added. "Everyone said, 'Enjoy, be in the moment.' I did all of that."

She's incredably beautiful, both me and my boyfriend believe the same, and still she looks so normal! Maybe it's because of her lovely curves and wide smile! I don't have any curves (I wish I had..)but hers are natural! I love the way she interprets the role as Izzie in Grey's Anathomy, she is believable (as are all the casts)

I hope her kids turn out as goodlooking as their mother.

As to 1:34 Anon - I don't like her for my reasons, and if I want to comment on it, then it's my prerogative. That's the beauty of blogs. If you actually saw the interviews from Knocked Up she was clearly joking about the babies and giving birth. She has always expressed a desire to have a large family.

It is called a sense of humor and sarcasm folks..clearly far too intelligent a concept for most of the people posting here.

I never understand why people who dislike someone post on articles relating to them? If I hate someone or something I avoid it. I think they must be in denial.

I think she'd easily quit smoking if she were trying to get pregnant or if she got pregnant. People who smoke often worry about gaining weight while trying to quit, but if she was going to be pregnant, an extra 5-10 lbs wouldn't really be noticed because she'd be pregnant. So, my guess is that she'll certainly quit to have children, whenever that may be.
