Her mother says she was in fear for her life and had no choice but to leave. Kellie refuses to believe that, even though her father spent time in prison for stabbing someone and even though he just recently threatened to murder his current wife. Why does our society make women out to be the villians when they claim abuse?

American Idol star Kellie Pickler is singing the blues following the news that her father is again behind bars.
A rep for Pickler just confirmed to Usmagazine.com that the America Idol alum’s father is back in prison. "This information is correct and Kellie is aware of the situation. We have no comment," said Wes Vause, Senior Director of Media at SONY BMG.
Clyde Pickler was initially released from a Florida prison last year after serving a three-year sentence for stabbing a neighbor. Currently, Pickler is in a Stanley County, North Carolina jail, where he’s facing multiple charges, including assault on a female, communicating threats, and assault with a deadly weapon.
His wife filed charges last Wednesday,claiming that he threatened her with, "You know that guy I stabbed in Florida that didn't die? Well it's gonna be different this time because you are going to die."
Pickler is now being held on a $20,000 bond. His next court
appearance will be on February 28.
Meanwhile, Kellie, 20, is focusing on her singing career. The North Carolina native is currently scheduled to appear in concert with Brad Paisley in her home state in July.

I followed Kellie's time on AI and voted for her. She is a talented young woman and the fact she has had a difficult up bringing has only made her stronger and more determinded to make something of herself. It seems she has developed the very talent God gave her. After all we don't choose our parents, do we? Kelli keep up the good work, love your voice. Thanks for taking a chance on AI. You deserve all the good things in life.

I think her family will impact her success, but a lot of her celebrity peers have not-so-great relatives, too. There is always a longing in the heart for perfect parents, but maybe her past gives her an edge and a realistic notion of where irresponsibility can lead. It did me, and I turned out ok. Gooooooooo, Kelli!!!!!! She's a fantastic performer, talented singer, and she's beautiful. She also seems sweet.

It wont have an effect on Kellie's career, except give her more publicity. Kelly was good on AI but I was a bit dissapointed in her first video. The song is good but to me Kellie didnt look the part she was trying to play. Just my opinion.
