Kenny Chesney Injured During South Carolina Concert

 Rick Diamond / Wire Image Country crooner Kenny Chesney sustained an injury at a Columbia, South Carolina concert Saturday night – but the show went on despite his pain. Bones in the 40-year-old's foot were crushed due to an equipment malfunction as his performance began, CMT reported. Chesney's foot was stuck for about 30 seconds between the stage and a lift that elevated him to the stage at Williams-Brice Stadium, according to CMT. The singer was limping and holding his knee, CMT reported. After the show, doctors from the University of South Carolina cut off Chesney's boot to minimize damage. "I took one look at those fans, and there was no way I wasn't going on," Chesney said in a statement. "Sometimes the energy and the adrenalin pull you through." He added, "They had come to rock, and there was no way I was sending them home with anything less than the best of what me and my guys came to do – put it all out there and give them back at least as good as they gave us." Chesney was the final act for the first stadium show of the Poets & Pirates tour, which included performances by LeAnn Rimes and Brooks & Dunn. I was at the show- He was awesome. I am even a bigger fan, now because he didn't want to let us down and although in pain, put on a fantastic show!!!

I was also there last night. I know he was in extreme pain. I almost felt guilty enjoying the show! He did an excellent job and I admire him for his dedication to his fans! That's why we love him and pay so much to see him! I have an new found respect for Mr. Chesney!

I went and saw Kenny at Williams-Brice Stadium and He was GREAT and you could tell he was hurt but he still did GREAT..The show was good and the other performers were GREAT... The stadium was soooo full BUT THE SHOW WAS TERRIFIC........................!!

He did acknowledge that he had a broken foot,, but he was amazing, and played on through the pain,,, I felt bad for him,, he would grimace and limp,, but never slowed down,,, that is dedication to your fans,, and greatly appreciated.............
