EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Federline in Talks to Star in Legally Blonde on Broadway

A source says Britney Spears’ ex, 30, may be heading to NYC in September to make his Broadway debut in Legally Blonde, the Tony-nominated musical adaptation of the hit film, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

“He’s so excited!” a Federline source tells Us.

The former backup dancer and aspiring hip-hop artist — who is hitting the gym after packing on “daddy weight,” ex Shar Jackson says — will test his song-and-dance chops in a trio of roles — including the UPS guy who inspires the “bend and snap.”

“This is his chance to show the world what he can do,” says a pal.

And now that he has physical custody, sons Sean, 2, and Jayden, 18 months, might join him in the Big Apple.

“This is his dream and he wants to bring the kids,” says the insider. “Jamie and Lynne [Spears] promised to help him make it work.”

(A rep for the show says he is not scheduled “as of this time.”)

Federline may not be the only star hitting Broadway: New mom Nicole Richie has been approached to star in Chicago.

Oh, can't believe it. I saw his profile with some photos on B i l l i o n a i r e C u p i d.c o m, where celebrities, pro athletes, beauty queens and wealthy singles mingle. The profile looks sincere and attractive. Maybe sometimes they really need a soul mate rather than a rich buddy. It's said some celebs have found their perfect match there.

I've seen the show multiple times. The role of the UPS guy (and the other smaller roles he plays) requires talent and looks, hence the casting of Andy Karl. This will cheapen the show.

I'm all for the guy getting a JOB, but honestly, the role of the UPS man is not right for him. I hate how these Broadway shows are hiring celebrities just for the sake of hiring celebrities, whether they fit the role or have talent or not. Perhaps he can play a prisoner in Les Mis or something, that would be more appropriate for him. Not the UPS man who is supposed to be hot and funny, he is neither.

There is no way I would go and pay to see this man. He is a dead beat, uses woman to get where he is and personally I don't see anything special about him that I would spend my money on him. Yes- I'd pay to see him. He is in a position that no matter if he has talent or not, people won't acknowledge it because of who he was married to......his roles on OTH and CSI were small, but he did them well.
