Kiefer Sutherland “thanks god” that the world’s highest-paid and most beloved actress saw the light, broke off their engagement, and ran off with his friend. Well, there’s a glass half-full guy if ever there was one. The New York Daily News reports:

24 star Kiefer Sutherland has forgiven ex-fiancée Julia Roberts for running off with Jason Patric in 1991. [...]

"I commend Julia for seeing how young and silly we were, even at the last minute, even as painful and as difficult as it was," says Sutherland, who was days away from marrying Roberts. "Thank God she saw it."

As for the cocaine habit? He just liked the symmetry of the parallel lines:

"I did like the ceremony, the ritual of preparing cocaine as much as doing it," he tells Britain's Mail on Sunday. "I did it for a year, loved it and then stopped. I feel the same way about cooking now — it's an amazing time to focus on something else."
