Kirstie Alley, 55, has made good on a promise she made last year to wear a bikini on The Oprah Winfrey Show. On Monday’s Oprah, the actress took to the stage in a cranberry-colored bikini, and received a standing ovation from the crowd (see footage here).

The actress first opened up about her struggle with weight on Oprah in 2004, when she weighed over 200 pounds. The day after her talk show appearance, she quit smoking and decided to change her life and body.

Over the next two years, she turned her battle with weight into the Showtime comedy series Fat Actress, and became a spokeswoman for the Jenny Craig weight loss program.

So far Alley has lost 75 pounds on the program through diet and exercise.

"You look beautiful," Oprah told the actress when she debuted her new bod.

The actress now feels more comfortable in her own skin. "I don't think women ever feel like we're good enough," she said. "We don't feel like we're thin enough or pretty enough or smart enough or work hard enough … We all are good enough and we look good enough and we are not our bodies, you know?"

Alley has been chronicling her weight loss journey on her Jenny Craig blog. In October, she posted:

“The most important reason I want to wear a bikini on Oprah…is because if I, a 55 year old woman can look even half way decent, imagine how all of you could look in a bikini. Then all of us can breathe a little easier. Hell, I’ll never look like Giselle, I never did! But maybe close to Bridget Jones or a Dove girl or something that is just fine and healthy and happy with no surgery, no lypo and no drugs-that’s saying something!”
