Singer Kylie Minogue: I Have "Great Respect" for Doctors

A day after revealing that she was initially misdiagnosed, breast cancer survivor Kylie Minogue has expressed to gratitude for the doctors who helped her.

"I have great respect for the medical profession," the 39-year-old singer said in a statement."

"I am in the very best of hands now," she said. "But it is a fact that my initial diagnosis was that I was 'alright, and had nothing to worry about.' A few weeks later this was clearly not the case."

Minogue also thanked "the countless people who have helped me."

On Monday, the Aussie spoke out about her misdiagnosis to Ellen DeGeneres.

"Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right," she said.
