LaKisha Jones was certainly one of Idol’s most memorable vocalists -- not to mention a regular victim of Simon Cowell's acid tongue! Usmagazine.com chatted with the show’s latest castoff the day after her elimination and gave her a chance, among many topics, to tell us what she really thinks of Simon.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT
“People kept wanting that “And I Am Telling You” moment every week and when you’re singing different genres of music, those styles don’t necessarily have that big sound everybody’s looking for each week. I did the best I could with what I was given and I gave it my all.”

DAUGHTER KNOWS BEST
“[My daughter Brionne is] four now and I was crying last night and she looked at me and said “Mommy, I’m not mad.” [Laughs] “I just thought that was really cute – it’s almost like she was telling me “I’m proud of you – I’m not mad!”

SIMON AND LAKISHA SITTING IN A TREE…K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
“He is a good kisser and I would do it again! His lips were really soft and thin.”

COWELL’S CATTY COMMENTARY
“My favorite comment from him would have to be “She’s in a league all of her own. [Least favorite was] you’re shouting!”

REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD
“[I’m excited to see] Sanjaya. He was like a little brother that got on your nerves all the time. He has all this energy! I appreciate the fact that he trusted my judgment, took my advice and was there for me when I needed him.”

WHAT’S UP WITH WHO’S LEFT?
“Jordin’s so doggone cute and she has a really good, genuine spirit about her. I love Blake. He keeps me going. He has originality and personality. Melinda has so much soul and power.”

This is to druid's comment. She may not be Chris Daughtry but I can't understand why you have to be so anal about it. She has a great voice and will continue on in life with a great singing career. You watch and see. I'd like to know what you think when she goes platinum.

LaKisha has so much talent and I think just needs to develop her confidence more and have that shine through more consistently like she did in "I'm telling you". She soared with that song both vocally and in stage presence.
Also it was nice to see a plus size woman excel. Being a lover of such women and her (how shall I say) delectable "assets"! --mmmm!
LaKisha rocks! Wish I could meet her!

Good for her! She has a great voice and showed nothing but class throughout the competition when she'd have had every right to be insulted just having to be on the stage with some from that first group who were clearly getting by on looks alone.
