Lauren gets on my nerves with her constant glaring...in my neighborhood I would have to call her out...of the closet

2:50. Lauren is just starting out. I doubt Vera Wang was a raving success her first year. In fact, Vera designed her own wedding gown to which she now says she wouldn't have worn that today. It is an evolution and I can believe if you work at it, you can get better.

I think there is a limit as to what the fashion institute can do for someone. If you have the talent it can certainly help you further develope it and teach you other aspects of the trade. But if you don't have the talent it's not going to give it to you.

It's like someone wanting to be a singer that doesnt' have a great voice. You can take voice lessons and get better but if you don't have the voice to begin with, no matter how hard you work or where you train youre never going to be Celine Dion. Lots of people are interested in the arts. It doesnt' mean everyone can make a living at it just because it is what interests them most.

Perhaps exploring another career in the same industry would be a better choice.

ok, first of all, if she "isn't involved with the creation of her line" then why would she be majoring in Fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising??????? So I don't believe that she isn't involved.

I don't think people should be criticizing Lauren. Its Heidi they should be scrutinizing. Its very obvious that she has no part in the design process of "her" clothing line, its not like she went to school to learn how to design. ( well actually she did go that one in San Fransisco that Lauren did but she didn't finish!)

6:55 What are you talking about? Did you not read the current issue of US Weekly? Bloomingdale's indicated that her line EXCEEDED their expectations and they are now considering put the line into their on-line store. Please educate yourself.

First of all neither Heidi nor Lauren are fabulous designers. Heidi does not design anything herself and I know this for a fact because my best friend was a buyer for the Anchor Blue Corporate office that carries the Heidiwood line. All Heidi does is chose out what ever she thinks is cute from the vendors and then her name is put on it!!

I think Lauren does do her own designs because they are so boring that I think anyone with half a brain could do that. She makes plain cotton bubble dresses that you could find anywhere, and for a lot cheaper. Many boutiques have quit carrying her line and Nordstrom is not doing too well selling the line either. Also I know too many young girls who attend FIDM. It is a school that accepts anyone as long as you are willing to pay the over whelming tuition, no talent necessary. So over all I think those girls should stick to reality and leave designing to real talents like Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenburg, Nicole Miller, and even the project runway contestants!

If anyone believe's Heidi DESIGNED those jeans and tops herself, they are mistaken. Her name is on the line as an endorsement but she doesn't sketch, sew or do the things we see Lauren doing in the show. When has anyone seen her do ANYTHING related to designing? She is too busy "working" at Bolthouse and her singing (if you call it that) career. Also, IF someone else were designing Lauren's line, you can bet they would be yelling to the press that they designed her line and deserve the credit. The design industry is pretty cutthroat so I find it hard to believe some poor soul is in a back room somewhere letting someone take credit for their work.

I definitely believe that Lauren is creatively, involved in her Lauren Conrad Collection. If you watch dvd's of The Hills as early as the second season, you can clearly see her distinct style; as a matter of fact, she was the first person I saw wearing leggings and scarves. She is a very fashion forward, young designer...emphasis on DESIGNER! Do I believe she is held up in her room all day and all night cutting and sewing the pieces? No. However, as many celebrity clothing designers believe is paramount with their respective lines, Lauren is cautious and savvy when she decides to put her "stamp of approval" on an item; afterall, her "stamp" is her name and reputation. I love Lauren's style; I, for one, would want to raid her closet, haha. I own a dress and top from her fall and winter collections, respectively. My pieces are really comfortable, flattering and easily worn from the day into the night, depending on how you accessorize. Unfortunately, the prices are a little steep for some fans/shoppers. Additionally, "well endowed" women may have a hard time finding dresses which lend appropriate support where needed (I fall into that category and can only wear one style). So, there you have it: my input..haha.

Laurens been given opportunity enough to showcase her style and clothing. I don't think she has lived up to the opportunity given her. I think her line is boring and overpriced and it looks as if she produces the same things season after season. Heidi's line is much more edgy. Right off the bat heidi's line is cuter than Laurens and it's only her first time at the Rodeo. I love that she has bags and jewelery and is not afraid to create different designs. The only down side to Heidi's line is that the clothes are cut for very thin women. She needs to have a few pieces that can be worn to cover thicker girls. Other than that I think her styles are awesome and her prices are competitive and reasonable. On the whole Heidi's line is better than Laurens.

@10:42pm: Apparently that's what Us Weakly considers an adequate "response" to the accusation, so my point still stands. After all, just because Lauren may have an genuine desire to be a fashion designer (and who knows. That may be the one genuine thing about her) doesn't mean she actually has creative output in the line she's shilling now.

@10:47pm: No one is bugging Jessica Simpson, because, to her credit, Jessica isn't spinning some bull about being a "fashion designer." Jessica just endorses the product (which is what MOST "celebrity designers" actually do). Not to mention that Jess is a singer and actress (not a very good one, but still) and, like a lot of actual celebrities, her clothing and perfume lines are just side projects to make her a little extra money and diversify her "brand." For people like Lauren and Heidi, things like this are done to fool us into thinking that they're not just D-list reality show bimboes who are famous for riding the coattails of MTV and US Weakly.

Suuuuuure she designs her own clothes. Suuuuuuure she's involved in every part of the process. Uh-huh. And pigs fly. Anyone really believe that?

Lauren has never had a friend or a boyfriend be as faithful to her and helpful and collaborative of her career as Spencer is to Heidi and she's JEALOUS of that. Think if Brody was as good of a boyfriend to Lauren and wanted to colloborate on a mens line or mens jewelery with her. It'll never happen. Lauren is never going to find a guy as faithful and helpful to her as Spencer is to Heidi. I see why she hates Heidi, it's called being green with envy.

Why doesn't Lauren sew anything herself? The one episode when she altered her evening gown she acted like she wasn't sure she was doing it right. Whitney looked positively freaked when she started sewing. If Lauren was good at sewing and designing clothes she would be so good she would throw stuff together at her own apartment and wear it out. Forget the fabric selections and the design imput. Make something the old fashioned way at your house and wear it if you are so good.
