saying LC is a great designer is like saying Paris Hilton is a great philanthropist. I completely agree w/Jaws and I wonder at the age of the posters on here. There are pics of LC wasted at clubs on WEEKNIGHTS!! I'm sorry, but, what kind of job can I find that will pay me money to do that and then come to work bright and early the next day?? here's a clue, NO WHERE! Her job is for the cameras as are her designs. I find it incredibly insulting that MTV expects people to actually believe LC is what the propaganda churns out when in reality...all she is is another drunkard w/too much money and time on her hands.

You go, Jamie. I totally agree. I posted below and I am definitely not stupid. JAWS- it's fine if you don't think this is a big gig, but obviously many people do. I think most people would consider designing anything for the Emmy Awards to be a big gig. Plus, you can't start off from the beginning designing stuff for A-list stars, or whatever it is you'd consider a big gig. This is going to be great exposure for Lauren. I bet she gets some major clients after this.

I think Lauren is great, and I think this IS a big gig. The reason being is that she is a new, blooming designer and this is for a major awards show. You can't go straight to designing dresses for the stars. If this dress turns out well, everyone is going to know who designed it, and she may get huge clients from that. Not bad for a beginner. Either way, she will get some great exposure. I think she is a very classy young woman and I wish her the best.

JAWS- You missed the point. No one is saying just because she tried you should applaud here. Are you kidding?? I almost don't even want to respond to you because you obviously just don't get it and probably still won't. The point is, Lauren succeeded after lots of hard work and determination. The posts that were talking about how hard she has worked, her efforts, etc. were responding to another post. Also, you clearly have a misunderstanding of how difficult it is to be a big time designer. This is much further than many other celebs attempts to have a clothing line. You gotta start somewhere. It's not like you can automatically design a dress for famous people. You have to work your way up, which is something that you clearly don't understand. Get a life, some common sense, and learn to be happy for people. This is a much bigger deal than anything you've ever done or will get to do, I'm sure. So wipe off your bitter attitude and learn to understand the process of hard work, climbing the ladder, etc.

No, you're not supposed to applaud her just for trying. The posts were just responding to a post that suggested Lauren was just a spoiled rich girl who had everything handed to her. Also, she didn't just try, she's succeeded. You know, for insinuating that others are mentally retarded, you're not so bright yourself. Your comment was ridiculous.

Uhh... comparing Ivanka Trump and LC? Being an heiress in NYC and growing up in an non-famous,upper-middle class family (her dad is an architect, not a famous business man) in CA is completely different. Ivanka, whom I love but don't think should be compared to LC, grew up with responsibilities as a socialite heiress in NYC. Lauren was just a regular girl and has shot to fame in the past few years. Completely different. They are both good role models but have totally different upbringings.

Bad press? What bad press is there about LC besides what Heidi and Spencer say? I don't think anyone gives a crap what those two say. The whole Humane Society thing was so dumb and clearly a misunderstanding if you watch the video. I think Lauren has maintained a great image, and anyone who doesn't like her because she has money is just bitter. She still works hard and is kind to others. Her designs are great to me. I just got a dress from her line with flowers on it and another with a bow on the front. They aren't boring at all. Chic and simple is what she is designing. If you don't like it, fine. But that doesn't mean it's boring.

6:05- One of 4:44's points was that there are plenty of other people who were born into much wealthier families than Lauren. Her post was in response to another that called Lauren rich. She was saying it's not like Lauren is the only rich girl, there are plenty people more rich than she. No one tried to say she's done more than Ivanka. They are totally different people with different lives and different ways of growing up.And what bad press are you talking about??? The false report from that crazy lady that was shot down? And you mention that Lauren came out of a club drunk. SO WHAT? It's not like she did anything bad. Most girls her age (I'm 23, so I know.. and I think anyone who has some common sense and knowledge of the social world know) DO drink at clubs. She didn't behave badly. So get over that because it's completely ridiculous. Also, I don't find her designs lame whatsoever. Like someone said below, they are along the same lines as Ella Moss and Splendid. Simple doesn't mean boring. Sometimes simple is plain classy and elegant. I own several of her pieces and I love the fact that I can dress them up or down, and I can make different looks out of them with accessories. You buy one of her tops and you can make several outfits out of it. If you want something with more pattern or whatever, buy another clothing line. That's like saying the GAP is boring because they don't have formal dresses or something. Wild patterns is not what she's going for. Geeeeez. I think these blogs have more people with the least amount of common sense possible!!!

To all you haters: There is a difference between boring and simple design. Her pieces are simple, well made, and generally flattering. Her newest collection is more trendy, she's using prints, and experimenting with different shapes. I think every collection she's done has improved upon the last. I'm very interested to see what she designs for the trophy girls.

I can't wait to see this dress and am so ready for The Hills to be back on!! And 4:44 Natalie- I totally agree. I mean I didn't come from money like Lauren did, but isn't that what all of us want and are working for? We want to be successful, so what is wrong with the fact that some people are? It's like certain people just don't like others simply because they have something that they want or don't have. I wouldn't judge someone for being poor, so I really don't think you should judge someone for being rich either.

I get so sick of people calling her spoiled on here. Just because she was born to parents who went to school and worked hard to get where they are, does not mean she is spoiled. Privileged? Sure. But many other kids were born into families that make a LOT more money than her parents. So what, you think people should only be on TV or get any recognition if they are or were poor? Give me a break! Lauren was born to a successful family but has had the motivation to go to school and work hard. An internship at Teen Vogue is not a lazy job. You have to be hard working and motivated. She did this while going to school as well. MTV offered to follow her and put her on a show and she said yes, like many people would have. She is now designing a clothing line and doing many other things in the public. On top of all that, she is giving back to charity all the time and helping young kids with cancer, animals, etc. She doesn't seem like a moron to me. And just because her parents worked hard and make plenty of money shouldn't affect your opinion on her. She is doing way more than the average 22-year-old, so when you call her spoiled and a moron, you just look plain bitter and stupid. Get over the rich people being spoiled thing. There are plenty of nice poor people, and plenty of nice rich people. There are people with great hearts on both ends, and there are also people with not so great hearts on both ends. Don't group everyone together in one bad category! Get that chip off your shoulder!
