For Lauren Conrad, betrayal has been a fact of life.
"I want to say I can always trust my good friends that I've had forever, but at the same time, some of my oldest friends have betrayed me," the Hills star reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.
For the first time, Conrad opens up to Us in an exclusive interview about how ex Brody Jenner went public with a new girlfriend just days after she left for Paris while best friend Audrina Patridge buried the hatchet with Conrad's ex-BFF, Heidi Montag.
"At this point, I have to question every person that wants to have a relationship with me, whether it's a friendship or a romantic relationship," she tells Us.
The latest betrayals have been especially difficult for Conrad, who battled sex-tape rumors allegedly spread by Montag and caught one-time beau Jason Wahler in a liplock with another girl.
"Audrina has to remind me that she's not someone who's going to betray me," Conrad, 22, says pointedly.
As for Jenner's rebound, she says, "When you have that type of thing, you always have to question, 'Why wasn't I good enough?'"
"It's disappointing to have to question relationships," she adds.

. Lauren can't be a very good friend if everyone ends up not sticking by her. Obviously it has to be her fault. Heidi did nothing to Lauren. In fact Im pretty sure there never been any rumors about her having a sex tape. I think she likes being a victim so much that she invented it, and blamed Heidi and Spencer. There isn't a bit of proof they did anything, and Lauren basicly chose to stop being friends with Heidi because she was jealous of Spencer. If my friend told me who I can date and who I can't date, I would leave her too. Besides loving Spencer Heidid did nothing wrong.
Now Adrina did what? She stopped hating Heidi? Is that wrong? I think barrying the hatchet with anyone is a good deed. Poor poor Lauren. None of her freinds can put up with her primadonna demands for very long. Except Lo who is a butt kisser.
Audrina is very pretty. Lauren is sort of OK. She dresses OK, too. But Audrina is beautiful. No one would say she is ugly unless jealous. It can't always be someone elses fault. If LC loses friends all the time, she needs to see what she does wrong. Seems like they hook up with her, and its fun at first because of the fame, and as they get to know her they see she is evil.

Hey Lauran is a young woman who comes from a very rich family. Perhaps she didn't realize that there are people in the world that are not nice or who will use you for your fame, money or connections. I think she is navie, not stupid. This is learning the hard way, over and over. But she is getting paid big bucks to do it.
How much of this is really on the up & up? Drama sells - doesn't it. Just that this type of attention can suck your soul out of you! Be careful what you wish for - you just may get it.

Remember that saying?? ..."if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Alot of these comments are just anger filled (haters) and sound ignorant. I personally am a big fan of The Hills and i love Lauren "LC" (not in a weird way). Mostly for the reason that I can relate completely to everything she is going thru. Otherwise i may see it as a "teeny bopper show", as someone unneccessarily stated in their comment. Its easier to like something if you can relate to it, if you don't then why take the time to be a nasty person and attack people thru comments? Thats only for people with no balls BTW the hills is ALL OVER people magazine too (anonymous). so if you dont have anything positive to say... Lauren Conrad: I Don’t Feel ‘Betrayed’

Lauren Conrad is speaking out on claims that she was feeling “betrayed” by her friends Audrina Patridge and Brody Jenner — and insists, “I love them both.”
In a posting Thursday on her MySpace Celebrity blog, Conrad, 22, wrote:
Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up. I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another “poor me” story. The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this. I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day.
On a more positive note, I got to see some of the first episode yesterday and it looks amazing. I’m sooooooo excited for everyone to see Paris. Best wishes and I hope everyone tunes in Monday.
With The Hills premiering Monday night on MTV, Conrad also reveals a bit more about her family, her image and secrets behind making the show in, of all places, The Wall Street Journal.
In the profile, Conrad acknowledges that she and Jenner “have an odd relationship,” but it works, because “he’s a cute guy who’s okay with filming.”
As for LC’s image, Conrad’s publicist talks openly with the newspaper about building Conrad as a fashion “brand” — and about the need for Lauren to party responsibly when she’s hitting the hot clubs. “It’s the same conversation you’d have as a parent with a child,” said the rep. Conrad’s father Jim adds that they watch the blogs — and if they see her appearing tipsy in a photo, “We will tell her to ratchet it back.”

The Hills star Lauren Conrad has slammed an American magazine for using a fake interview and embarrassing her on the front cover. The reality TV star has accused Us Weekly of pulling together a number of interviews and placing her picture on the front cover with the headline, "Stabbed in the Back" - referring to her friend and co-star Audrina Patridge. But Conrad is adamant she has not spoken to anyone at the publication. She writes on her blog, "The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or (Conrad's ex) Brody Jenner. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this." And a friends tells New York gossip column Page Six Conrad was not happy with the article because she is friends with people at the magazine: "She's very good friends with these people. She goes out to dinner with them, and so does Audrina. So Lauren definitely wasn't happy when she saw this cover."
