Lauren Conrad: Nicole Richie "Was Surprised" She Had a Girl

Usmagazine.com caught up with Lauren Conrad at the opening of the Jimmy Choo flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills last night.

The Hills star — who attended Nicole Richie's Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower last year — said her pal didn't know she was having a little girl.

"No, she didn't know," Conrad told Us. "She was surprised."

Richie and Madden named their baby Harlow Winter Kate Madden. (Relive Richie's exciting pregnancy days here.)

Conrad also clarified reports that she and pal Whitney Port no longer work at Teen Vogue.

"Yeah, I'm not there anymore," she said. "I don't really know what is next. I am looking right now."

As for Internet rumors that pal Port has landed a job at W, Conrad said, "I don't know. I didn't hear that."
