FACEBOOKi have an heart murmour i was born with an hole in my heart which healed up and left me with a heart murmour i smoked from age 14 im now 36 and i gave up smoking 3 days ago after a scare im slim and always been slim i dont eat fatty foods much but i have noticed since stopping smoking my heart rate pumps more which scares me a bit as i carnt get used to breathing fast its weird

Singer Lily Allen says she was diagnosed with a heart murmur about three months ago.
The Brit, 22 — who dropped from a UK size 12 to a size eight in six weeks — told Grazia magazine her sudden weight loss is the result of exercise following the health scare, not because she wanted to be "some skinny minnie.
"I used to love nothing more than sitting in front of the telly with two packets of Ginger Nuts and two bags of milk-bottle sweets — and I'd devour the lot," she told Grazia.
"But this heart thing has made me cut back on all that kind of crap," she added. "I now find that, because I am looking after myself, I don't feel like eating the bad stuff so much."
Though she's put boozing on the backburner, she admitted, "I should also give up smoking, but haven't quite managed that yet."
A heart murmur is often harmless but can also indicate a hole in the heart or a heart valve problem.

There are different kinds of heart murmurs. While she was not obese, keeping physically fit will help. My cardio doc recommended I do moderate aerobic exercise because that will make your resting heart rate slower, which is better for you if you have a heart murmur.

I think it's a good idea to quit eating like crap and to exercise, and that being diagnosed with a health condition is a good reason to start doing that all. But losing weight that fast? I think that if she were doing it for the right reasons she'd quit smoking and lose weight normally.

It's just an excuse to lose weight, because she made statements in the past saying that people who are skinny are bad role models for girls and that she is a good role model because she is normal size. She says she's going to exercise, but in reality, I wouldn't be surprised if she had lipo done. She said awhile ago on her blog she was considering doing such a thing. If you pay attention to what she says, you'd know that she changes like the weather and has proven herself a hypocrite time and time again.

both my mom and sister have a heart murmur.....i don't remember the dr. saying anything to them about slimming down, but i suppose it does help. of course, both of them are at healthy weights anyhow. i just hope lily stays well and that her "heart murmur" is REALLY the reason for her weight loss.....

All fat people should have a health scare at least once, then maybe they would get off their fat asses and do something.

Even if its a heart murmur it's still not something to play with. It's widely known that if you are not in shape or are overweight that it puts more stress on your heart. Im sure she wanted to lose some weight anyway and now was just as good of time as any. She wasnt obese in my opinion to where it was a 'vital' thing but it couldnt hurt to be a little more physically fit just to be safe. I agree though that she needs to quit smoking. My mother in law had to have heart surgery and they had to repair a collapsed vein. The doctors told her that when they went in to remove it it literally disintegrated and because of years of smoking and there were no other good ones to replace it with. They were all literally in the same condition. They ended up having to pull one from her leg. They told her if she didnt quit it could kill her next time. People always think that smoking only effects the lungs and keep on doing it. It just eats your insides up.

Oh come on yes a heart murmur is a heart condition but like 3 out every 5 people have one most aren't even noticeable. Just fess up you hated the way you looked and you sought to improve yourself the way you thought it needed to be. Does anyone remember this girl's blog a couple months ago about how fat she looked and stuff. Why she trying so hard to spin the story???
