Lily Allen recently announced she's pregnant. The "Smile" singer, 22, opened about expecting as she kicked off Harrods Winter Sale in London this morning.
Her look for the new year? "Maternity dresses — big ones!" she said. (Perhaps she can find some inspiration here.)
Of being pregnant, she told Usmagazine.com: "It's fantastic! I'm loving everything."
She and her beau, Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons, don't plan to raise the baby in the states.
"No way!" she said when asked if she'd ever move to the U.S. "Women there are too high maintenance!
"I remember getting a manicure in New York, and this lady who was having a forearm wax — which I’d never even heard of before! — looked at me and said, 'You will need one soon.'
"I was like, 'No! What are you talking about?'
"They make you feel really bad about yourself unless you are completely pruned everywhere."
She went on, "I hate that modern way of thinking that you have to go to the gym 10 times a week, you can’t eat this, you can’t eat that, you should get a spray tan.
"All that preening makes you look worse anyway."

She doesn't want to raise her kids in the U.S. because they're too vain? Give me a friggin' break! Lily's got nice, straight, white teeth, a good complexion and a fairly good figure. She sure as heck isn't representing the average Brit with all that going for her so who's the vain one Lily? If she were as lacking in vanity as her average compatriot she'd be fat, sqeezed into too tight clothing, sporting stained, snaggled teeth and a pasty, sickly complexion.

Stereotypes become stereotypes, because they are at least partially true.
Some stereotypes are false like the one that the public school system teaches about "all" stereotypes are false. That is the dumbest stereotype of all.
Both men and animals learn thru stereotyping.
If rabbits didn't stereotype that wovles and coyotes eat rabbits, then there would be no more rabbits. They'd be eaten.
The world thinks we are a decaying people who have lost our moral compass, because this stereotype has some truth in it. Americans are not as moral as we were 50 years ago. Also, the American stereotype that many non-Americans smell bad has a grain of truth in it.

I hate to break it to her but there are vain people anywhere you go- even in her precious England! Is she worried her will isnt strong enough to not give in to the pressures of it? If thats the case then she needs thicker skin than that. Just because you live amongst it doesnt mean you have to be that way yourself. To each his or her own...She can stay where she is as far as I am concerned. Her not wanting to live in the USA is not a 'sad day' for America~

Apparently someone who bases her impression of the US on one stupid incident doesn't need to live here, and we don't need the likes of her and her family here either. bleepeddaboudit! I still love her music, but she proves to be a close-minded one.
