After weeks of speculation, Lisa Marie Presley has confirmed that she and husband, music producer Michael Lockwood, are expecting their first child.
“I am in fact pregnant,” the singer, 40, blogs on her MySpace page.
She slammed Web sites and British tabloids for speculating on her recent weight gain.
“Now that things are confirmed, hopefully they can stop all of the harassment, and I can stop dodging the continuous bullets,” she wrote.
“It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances.”
It is the first child for the couple, who wed in 2006.
Presley has two children, daughter Riley, 18, and son Benjamin, 15, from a previous marriage to Danny Keough.

Lisa Marie rocks!! She is the daughter of Elvis for crying out loud!! So what if she has a little extra weight on her. Not everyone can or wants to be a size 0. I think she is beautiful, not to mention she looks exactly like her father. If she's happy then let her be happy. Lay off and let her enjoy being pregnant. Best wishes to you Lisa Marie!!!

WoW, I agree with everything Stacy said. First..OMG..Congrats Lisa and Mike on your lil bundle of joy!! I am vey excited for the both of yous...Lisa has two beautiful children already, so i'm sure this baby will be cute too. Second... when your having a baby you also gain weigh..your eating for two, and some people get double chins and put on at least 30 pounds. There is two pics of lisa in the daily mail magazine. the minute i saw it i knew she was with child..she looks at least 4 to 5 months. its a shame that the media are sooo noisy. Hope she has baby girl..You Rock Lisa :)

Amen Randa! Have you noticed that is is mostly British media bashing her! I don't know why the British always act like they are so much better than the rest of the World. I think that's wonderful she's pregnant.
I just hope the two of them stay together, unlike her other marriages. And yeah, they are ALWAYS trying to get a bad picture of her, or try and make it look bad.

No wonder most female celebs have some sort of disordered eating. If someone like Reese Witherspoon or Eva Mendes gets a little bit of a bloated belly, they're pregnant according to the tabloids, even if they're not and they have to come out and say that they aren't pregnant, that they've gained a couple of pounds. Or, someone is legitimately pregnant and trying to maintain some level of privacy (for whatever reason, though a lot of times it comes down to not feeling comfortable with announcing that you're pregnant until you make it through the first trimester). Give them all a break. Congrats to Lisa Marie and her husband.

I would like to know why there was such a tabloid frenzy even if was a weight gain? Here we go again in a world where people are being chastised for being a little heavier. The average American woman is a size 14- not a size 2 or 0. But if your a celebrity- watch out if 10 lbs creep up on you. Why do some many young girls fall prey to eating disorders- its the media calling women "fat" when they are anything but. We need to focus on positive body images rather than headlines that scream "She is Fat" at a size 6/8. Enough is enough!!

The british media were so nasty about her, saying just like her dad putting on all that weight - something sinister is happening to her just like her dad - for christ sake, when a woman is pregnant why should she have to TELL THE WHOLE WORLD SHE IS, it is up to her and her only who and when she tells that she is pregnant, but what really upset me, was the comparision to her dad.

Ann- I didn't say she HAD to confirm her pregnancy at 3 months, it was a mere suggestion. As I said, what did she expect to happen? This is what the tabs do to make their money no matter how dirty it is, she's been in the spotlight all of her life, she had to know it would happen. US wasn't the only ones who blasted the story, they ALL do it about everyone. Just the other day, K-Fed was under attack for his weight gain. The tabs are all looking for a story, & if they can make one out of the obvious, they will, which they did.
