FACEBOOKI wouldn't say stick to acting nor would I say Grammy. I think with some refinement - she has the voice, but I'm not sure she's using it just right- and some help with the technical aspect of making songs, she could rise higher.

Scarlett Johansson sounds eerily similar to the Irish singer on a track from her upcoming album Anywhere I Lay My Head (out May 20).

It should be obvious to anyone who actually listened to the song: she's a horrible singer. To say that she's tone-deaf is to put it mildly. She sounds like a large dog howling a low note repeatedly, except worse and inside a studio. The people who are trying to soften their criticism of Scarlett's bad singing have bought into her marketed image. Her attempt at "being a singer" is so low-quality that it's comical.

It's funny how people think she's different from Paris, Lohan, etc. only because she sings covers of Tom Waits instead of pop. Don't you realize it is the same kind of product with a different cover? Bad singing is ok if you have created the song, like Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and many others. She is pretty but that is not what is needed to be a real artist.

What is her point doing this? She claimed in Spin magazine interview this was just for her friends....why is she selling this to the masses? I think she should surrender her career for some ACTING LESSONS....she needs them...BAD!

Nope..I love Scarlett as an actress but that stunk! She has a little bit of vibrato but no style really. Where the heck was that song going anyway? It seemed all over the place, and the effects on her voice were stupid.

Wow. I'm not a fan. Stick to acting. I don't see her music being played on the music airwaves, if her music was playing, I'd turn it right away. I'd rather listen to Paris Hilton's song "Stars are Blind".......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, LOL.

It's not what I expected her to sound like at all. She's obviously not going for a sound that will blow you away with her amazing voice. She's not Whitney Houston or even Kelly Clarkson-esque. However, it's interesting. It's different. I'm sure some people will appreciate it because the music itself is good. It's not really my thing but at least she didn't over synthesize with a pop style and call it "hip hop" like the other teen queens.

Every song on the record is a cover of a Tom Waits song. If you know his music, you can hear what they were going for. It's supposed to be intellectual - the music equivalent of one of those tiny independent movies you'll never go see! However, her voice sounds sharp and strident... the exact opposite of the way her face and body look... and I wish she would have softened it a little. It would have been much prettier. And more listenable.

Wow, dat girl sho' can sing! By the way, I understand she is singing/talking in a low pitch for the song, but when I was listening to it all I could think about is that she has absolutely no range. People will try to make a buck off of ANYONE or ANYTHING! Damn, she sounds bad.

Uhhhhhhhhhh....she needs to bring it up an octave. That totally put me to sleep. Nice melody, but her singing is way too MONOTONE. It sounds really strange, and I like this type of music. That's a song that someone like Many Moore or Sherly Crow could pull off. Sorry Scarlett. :(

You guys have no sense of art.. She doesn't sound bad at all. It's the type of song that she's singing. Obviously she's sounding like that on purpose. It's her way of artistic expression. She was in key the entire time. The song just has a low range. That's it!!

Wow...ear candy it is not. Listening to this song was painful- I hope none of my coworkers overheard me playing the song...I kept turning it up louder thinking something was wrong with the speakers. The speakers are working fine-the melancholy droning/moaning flowing from the speakers was all her!

Amen 3:37 I didn't listen to the whole thing either. At first I wasn't even sure that it was the song until i kept listening. That's bs that just b/c she's rich and pretty she gets to make an album, when there are really talented people out there that record companies won't even give a chance.....
