Lohan's Dad: Church is Saving Lindsay

In an interview scheduled to air tonight on The Insider, the outspoken Dad says he's pleased with his daughter's progress. "Lindsay has found this righteous path because she's going to church and that's a good sign." Another good sign? The cancellation of her 21st birthday party at PURE in Las Vegas. Michael Lohan tells The Insider, "it was absurd and thank God she called it off." Lohan and his daughter have been estranged since his 2005 conviction on DUI and assault charges. A recovering alcoholic himself, Lohan has been vocal about his ex-wife's parenting skills and his daughter's need for structure. He told the New York Post in May: "The people out there [in Hollywood] with her are in it for the money. They want to see what they can get. Lindsay is an addict. Period. If she wants to stay clean, she needs to stay the hell out of the clubs and away from toxic people. She needs to regularly attend recovery 12 step meetings, get a sponsor and work the steps. She needs to surround herself with positive individuals who don't live the party lifestyle. They DO exist in Hollywood, we just don't see their pictures splashed across the blogs passed out with their nether regions on full view. If Lindsay can stay away from the old playmates, playpens and playthings, then, and only then, will she have a fighting chance. Oh, and don't knock church. If she finds God, then more power to her. She needs all the help she can get.

This Jacka$$ does not know what his daughter is doing or feeling. His only income is selling these kind of stories for anyone who might believe he has any sort of inside information. If I were Lindsay I would not talk to him either. Kids should not have to pay their parents rent and monthly bills. Be a man, leave your daughter alone already. I think the well has run dry for you.
