Lynne Spears' second book, Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame in a Tabloid World, is still in the works despite earlier reports that it had been shelved, the same week that Jamie Lynn announced she was pregnant at age 16.
"It is her memoir, not a parenting book," Lindsey Nobles, a rep for publisher Thomas Nelson, told Usmagazine.com Friday.
As for when the book is due, Nobles tells Us, “We don’t know. We don’t have a new publication date. It is still in the process of being written.”
Meanwhile, the company – which publishes Christian books – has released a statement supporting Lynne in light of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy scandal.
"Lynne's remarkable story will provide a window into the real-life world of fame and worldly success, including the terrible toll it extracts from those who aspire to it," Michael Hyatt, the president of Thomas Nelson said.
"Though the book has been delayed, we believe God is at work."
"The story is still being written, and we are confident in His ability to turn ashes into beauty."
