Elvis NEVER took credit for other people's music! He ALWAYS said that this was the music that influenced him when he grew up and which was ingrained in him. When he started he didnt have a musical repertoire so of course he was going to use songs that he knew and loved. He brought r&b to people who otherwise wouldnt have heard it at that time. Even Little Richard has said that by covering his music Elvis made him bigger. So what if he wasnt a songwriter he is undoubtedly the BEST and most ADMIRED entertainer in the history of popular music. Know what your talking about before you mouth off!

Everyone is going to have a difference of musical opinion. But what you have to understand is that music has different purposes. Sometimes it's meant to uplift, make you feel good, inform, revolutionize... whatever.

Do not hate on Mariah people! I have loved her since she first came out in 1990 and I was 11 in the 6th grade and I was singing "Someday" about my little crush who ignored me and said I was too skinny! Her voice is absolutely amazing, she writes her own material and she is a true talent. All of these new singers imitate her with all the riffing and wannabe range, all these R&B songs that have a rap hook are inspired by her "Fantasy" back in 95. Love her or hate her you can not knock her accomplishments. It's a fact people. Now...I must admit that I completely agree that at 38 she should tone down the clothing, the frolicking around like a 20 year old, and even the lyrics of some of this new material sounds completely absurd. And yes her voice has declined some, but I've seen her twice in concert post-Glitter and at the Disney Christmas Parade and that voice is gorgeous and crystal clear, most of the time. Even in her decline and raspiness she is still PHENOMENAL and a legend. Anyone can sing a handful of Mariah songs because that's right she has 18 number #1s and many more top 10's. Go Mariah you're stull on fiiah :)

Mariah Carey is crazy as the day is long! And I'm talking about BEFORE she had her very public meltdown. Recently, she described herself as "perpetual 12-year old." A "perpetual 12-year old"?!?!?!? The woman is pushing 40 and is still dressing like something from Baby Gap. Also, she is clearly a size 10-12 but insists on squeezing into 4-6's. This makes her look like a stuffed sausage! Her breasts are fake, her teeth are capped and I have never found her sexy. Women who are truly sexy NEVER try to be sexy...they just are. Her talent is mediocre and her new song is pathetic. She is trying TOO hard to appeal to a much younger crowd when she should be settled into her career. Clearly, the woman, at this point in her career, still doesn't know who she is, which is quite sad. I laughed out loud during that part of the "Touch My Body" video when Brett Ratner (the director) did this up angle from under her little dress to reveal bloomers. Bloomers are for children under 5! It's just so, so, so sad. Also, she has sold more albums because there are more people on the earth than when Elvis and the Beatles were around. It's simple math people, not exceptional talent that is responsible for her selling more albums.
