It is really sad that Katharine got snubbed, of course, but oh well. Things like this can be expected to happen. Personally I think she's a great voice but not with the right management team behind it.

She took a completely different and unsuccessful road if her album was more like her AI performances she couldve creamed chris and taylor but AI is losing its appeal MCphans r extremely dissappointed that she wasnt there and her sales arent picking up she is behind kellie pickler!!! and elliot is catching up! I heard clive davis wanted initially to give her a record deal but when she dint win he chose chris instead!!

Uh-huh... Well lessee... It's just that during the past year, I've lost count of how many hat... um... "people" have said that they literally HATED the girl, oftentimes for the LAMEST of reasons, and in the most vitriolic of tones.

So yes, I think the term "haters" fits perfectly (if it walks like a duck, yada, yada). That's MY opinion of course--to which I am entitled. Incidentally, you seem like the [all too common] type who relishes the concept of free speech, just so long as you can speak your mind with impunity. Well guess what honey... Comment forums like this one is essentially "neutral" ground (quite unlike MJ's). Yet another forum where all those crusty, dried-up, soccer-mom Soul Patrol hags can unload all of that pent-up, subconscious "woman love" for Kat McPhee. Seriously! How utterly, hopelessly OBSESSED must they be with this chick if they spend all that time and energy "hating" on the girl. Now me, I don't give a rat's a$$ about Taytay. I don't "hate" the guy... I just DON'T CARE what he is, says or does. As such I won't go near one of his forums (much less post on one). And yet on virtually every Kat forum there are all these virulent "haters" (99.9999% of which are females)... Makes you wonder... It can't all be "djelussy" can it? ;)

Who F***ing cares

She's pretty. Sometimes that can be enough in the music business, but apparently not always. It helps if you don't say that you hate your single and that all the ballads on your CD suck; I'm no expert, but I think that's not the best way to get people interested in your music.

Oh well, she's not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box! Or, if you prefer, girl's dumber than a bag of hammers; as sharp as a bowling ball; couldn't win a debate with a doorknob, etc., etc.

Thanks, Anon 1:55. Clive Davis was a major idiot for not signing Elliot. I think that he was better than Katharine and Taylor - and I would even argue better than Chris Daughtry. I'm just glad Elliot at least got his CD out. Clive probably regrets his decision.

You're kidding, she called them and asked to be on the show? Depseration isn't attractive. They are probably embarrassed since her album flopped. They only invite back those who are doing well.

No other runner ups appeared on the finale so why should she? The truth is Katharine is one of the most unlikable people to ever appear on the show, most viewers probably never want to see her again and that's why she didn't appear.

So much wisdom here I don't know where to begin. American Idol is clearly a franchise in decline. Not only are the ratings down but the power voting schemes in use result in winners such a Taylor Hicks. Sure AI has larger numbers of total votes every year but how many actual voters does that larger number represent? Idol doesn't seem to care.

The only former runner up ever to appear on a finale was Clay Aiken last year and he was, in essence, part of a self-mocking skit, even though he sang. If this article is correct and Katharine feels snubbed for not getting a finale appearance then she should look at the full history of the show and realize that is not the case.

Katharine has a good voice but it's nothing special really. Lots of people can sing, it's about the product and she isn't a great one. She's about as exciting as a paper bag. Her Scientology association didn't help her image and her album was BORING.

She needs to go away for awhile, get away from the Sci-fi freaks and get a better record producer. Maybe then people will start calling her for things other than to walk down their red carpet.

Katharine and her fans need a healthy dose of reality. She isn't making it. Someone asked and I saw a stat of alittle over 300,000 albums sold. Yikes--Taylor has sold 700,000, Kellie Pickler has sold more and Bucky is on her heels too. Elliott is about to bypass her on an independent label. Chris is almost triple plat. Carrie and Kelly are out of the ballpark. So she isn't doing very well on the music scene.
I don't get the negative Carrie comments but it's not try about the music execs not liking her.
