I wouldn't at all be surprised if Eddie's poor behavior cost him the Oscar. First, he's walking around with Babyface's wife, which I think is appauling and embarassing for both of them, even if they are ex's. And before that, he goes and father's a child and denies it. Yeah, most women don't mind getting pregnant by a millionaire because it means big bucks, but lying about that being his baby in the day and age of DNA? I don't think so. There just ain't that much "sneekyness" in the world. DNA will prove who the baby's daddy is.

well if you ask me both of them have done some wrong! Mel new what she was doing when she was messin around with Eddie. She's washed up, she aint been heard from nor seen since the spice girls went bad (and thank god!) then she came across eddie, knowing that this will put her back in the media, they fooled around and SHE MADE SURE she got pregnant by that millionair...in other words (pay dirt) thats where she was wrong at....hey it may not even be his! you know as a female myself, i know how sneeky we can be! & as for Eddie, he was wrong for tryna hit it, and quit! he aint want her ass. as you can clearly see. but the truth will all show in the end. and why would she sleep with him knowing that eddie murphy has been known to sleep with men??? eeeew.....she must really be broke. & shes not as cute as she use to be. and if he's denied the baby on multiple occasions i wouldnt name my child after him. bc he's not worthy. so that was a dumb move mel. but maybe you did it to make the baby known in the long run......bc i dont know what the hell happend to the other one....aint nobody mentioned her, or was it a he??

I don't really care if it's Eddie's baby or not, Mel just shouldn't have named the baby like that. It's rude and shows that she wants attention. I guess she needed to make a point about Eddie's fatherhood and didn't care anyone but herself. Even if it's Eddie's he probably won't be there every step of the way as he's been so negative towards the whole thing from the start. He made his decision to move on and Mel should do it too. Eddie's not coming back to you even if the baby is his.

Mel is a smart, sexy woman who doesn't need the money -- she could live off the ongoing royalties from the Spice Girls songs she wrote. Any claims she's a gold-digger are stupid.
As for naming the child after Eddie, well, I wouldn't do it just because he's clearly a jerk-off. (Walking out in a huff after losing the Oscar? Dude!) But she's obviously sending a message for him to take responsiblity.
Meanwhile, I wouldn't be surprised if, like she says, Eddie's relationship with Whatsherface is a sham. Mel's one perceptive woman.

Gee, how many men have denied being the father? There are women in the world who know who the father is because they have only slept with one man. I have no reason to think she is lying, do you?

I wouldn't name the baby after Eddie. It is clear that he wants no part of raising the child. I understand why he would want a paternity test done but he will regret the time he lost with his daughter until the test is taken. Mel probably named the child after Eddie to prove a point to the public. I would never had given the child her father's name when he is so publicly denying she is his daughter. Eddie doesn't deserve to have this baby named after him. I am a fan of Eddie's but I don't agree with how he has handled this situation. He doesn't have to care about Mel but he surely shouldn't be taking this out on his child. He will look like a fool to the public when the test indicates he is the father.

The name is up to the mother as it seems the father does not have the guts to be around. Why would she in this day and age say he is the father if he is not. There is 100% conclusive testing and no woman would put herself through this if she was not sure.

for all you americans who dont know about mel b she left spice girls with over 30 million pounds in her account so i know for a fact its not money she is after. i hope she milks him dry just for the sake of the humiliation he has caused her and i hope she does it in a very public way just like he did to her.

I dont think its right at all to name it before shes absolutely sure but then again maybe she is. Im sure she knows who shes had sex with and who she hasnt in the time during which she got pregnant

If he is so sure that it isn't his kid and she is so sure it is, then why don't they test the baby? That would fix everything. I might i say the Melanie looks good always liked her out of the rest of the Spice girls.
