Michelle Rodriguez has been released from jail early after just 17 days, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Web site.
The actress, best known for her role on Lost, was sentenced to 180 days for violating probation stemming from her DUI arrest. She checked into the Lynwood, California, jail days before Christmas, on Dec. 23.
Rodriguez, 29, admitted to violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of community service and for drinking three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet.
"She's nice, personable, down to earth ... nothing like Paris Hilton!" a correctional officer told Us a few days into her stint. "She asked to work," the source said of the star who helped in the kitchen. "She said she wanted a job and didn't want to be isolated like other celebs."
When asked by Us if she was nervous about her jail time, Rodriguez replied, "I'm a woman, honey!"

It's great that Michelle Rodriguez was released from jail early! Hopefully, she learned her lesson this time & won't go back to jail again? And it's a good thing she wasn't anything like Paris Hilton when she was in jail last year!

Anonymous 10:18: An everyday Joe would also serve 10% of their jail sentence if it is a non violent crime. That is LA. The reason they are let out is because Federal mandate does not allow the jail to have more than a certain amount of people. This is probably wrong but it was not special treatment.

Dee 10:35: She did not get special treatment. It is LA. Everyone gets out early because of over crowding (if it is a non violent crime). You may not agree with the system but they did not give her special treatment.

Donna P: I think Keither Sutherland violated his DUI four times. That is why he has a "long" sentence. I think MR got a lighter sentence because she did not complete the requirements of her second DUI probation (not 4th).

Kari 12:05: She is not getting special treatment. Everyone in LA leaves jail after serving 10% of their sentence if it is a non violent crime. She was treated like everyone else. LA will probably have to reform their judicial system. Apparently they are having many problems with over crowding (probably due to the 3 strikes you are out rule). I agree she should serve her full sentence but so should everyone else. She should not be treated better or worse for being a celebrity. She was treated the same.

What is it with all these celebs not having to serve their entire jail sentences??? If it was some ordinary average joe, they'd have to serve ALL their time and then some. This really burns my ass. These celebs think that just because they're rich and famous, they're above the law!!

She's like any other person, unlike Paris Hilton who thinks she's royalty. So glad Paris's grandfather gave the inheritance to charity because Paris doesn't need any more millions.

I agree with the other posters. It is ridiculous how celebrities (even a B or C List celebrity like her) get such light treatment in jail. The exception has been Keifer Sutherland. He hasn't been released or cried his way home, YET!

This is ridiculous what type of message are they trying to send out to the public. Celebrities are human as well and should pay consequences just as well. So what its ok if she drank and drove, and didnt follow the conditions. I think this is BS. and PS she looks like a crack head
