Minnie Driver: My Baby Daddy Is English!

 Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic Mom-to-be Minnie Driver is shooting down reports that San Francisco musician Craig Zolezzi is the father of her baby. "Craig's not the dad!" she told U.K.'s Independent newspaper on Thursday. "He's my great friend, and he's been so cool about it." The Brit, 38, wouldn't reveal the father's identity, but hinted he's English and "sort of in the same business ... he's really busy, like me." Why so secretive? "I want to shield the baby's dad as much as I can because it wasn't his choice to get roped into all this stuff," said Driver, who noted the pregnancy was "unplanned" but "very happily received." His name will "come out in time and there'll be some other bump people will be interested in, and I'll have this baby and get on with my life." Asked if they'd wed, she replied, "Definitely not in the near future. "It's not important to me," she went on. "I don't think a piece of paper lends itself to the idea of being a good parent." She said she is uncertain if she'll have her baby in the U.S. or England. "A big part of me wants my child to be English," she said. "My family are here, and I'm sure I'll move back here one day. It's just that my work, and the opportunities I've had, have been so varied and wonderful in the States that I've just followed my nose really." Driver told Usmagazine.com she is due in August. JillyRo - To me you come off way more of a desperate house wife who would rather gossip in envy than actually feel happy for someone else. It doesn`t matter if she is a -famous- actress or someone who sits in an office all day. It shouldn`t matter if she is going to name the Father or not. I don`t see what the big deal is. It is her business, not your`s. My advice? Get a hobby you actually have some talent in, because being a critic isn`t working for you.

Jeez, JillyRo....sound a bit bitter or jealous! Actually, a lot of you bloggers sound bad! I don't find her to be a tramp or a fame seeking ho, she is a single woman and is now pregnant. Maybe the dude did dump her, or maybe SHE dumped HIM! It doesn't matter, it is her life and the life of the baby. At least she won't be milking welfare or trying to conive someone into being involved. Many woman make a choice to have a child and do quite well. I am very happy for Ms. Driver and think she will raise a very well-balanced and very loved child!

"Phantom of the Opera" and "Ella Enchanted"? Low budget little nothings. Hardly worth mentioning. Give the woman a break - she's a working actor who makes a (very good) living practicing her craft, something that only about 2% of SAG members actually manage to do.

So silly and stupid to keep the father's ID secret. I hate when celebs keep that stuff or their baby's name (like Casey Affleck) a secret, it's ridiculous and likely attracts more attention (maybe what they're looking for?). Funny how it's usually less popular actors who do this. Says she has to live here because "the opportunities" in the States, well her opps must have been few and far between because did she even work at all before her show The Riches came along??
