Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi is pregnant, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com exclusively.

"As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi's privacy at this time," the rep continues.

Endometriosis is a medical condition in which the uterus' lining grows in other areas of the body, causing pain, irregular bleeding and possible infertility.

The baby's father has not been revealed. Online reports have speculated Manu Nathan is the dad, but her rep denies that, telling Us he's Lakshmi's cousin.

Lakshmi split from novelist Salman Rushdie in 2007 after three years of marriage.

She won the Best First Book award for her first cookbook, Easy Exotic, at the 1999 World Cookbook Awards in Versailles, France. Her second cook book, Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet, was released in October 2007.

Guess the star baby bump!

She hosted the Food Network series, Padma's Passport, in 2001. She's also guest hosted on British show Planet Food.

Ok, I'm married with three kids. I will never understand why some people are so ignorant as to think a single woman should be ashamed to be pregnant. I bet these same people picket abortion clinics. Padma will have no trouble raising this child on her own. And I don't think being pregnant should be the only reason for a couple to marry.

I'm so happy for Padma. Congragulations! I think she is the best host for Top Chef, which I never miss an episode. But, who's the father. She got divorced from her husband in 2007. This is 2009. Has she been hiding a new man. Good luck Padma. You are beautiful.

I an 33 now and have lived with endometriosis since I was 17. It really truly sucks! Very painful...undergoing another surgery. I also had a medical miracle baby last year. He may be my last but I will not take it for granted. I hope her the best and enjoy all the things that come with pregnancy, You will grieve for them after it's over. Never know may be her last as it may be mine. Good luck Padma!!!

I think she's ready and very happy to be pregnant/to welcome the child. It may not have been planned but it will be huge for her. She is glowing. When I saw that picture, I thought her chest and tummy looked pregnant. Good for her.

I don't understand why any woman wants to deliberately bring a child into a single parent household, how selfish it is to do that.

Anonymous (4.11 PM), Your mother and father were married and divorced. So your mother is a single parent. At least you were not born out of wedlock. So you are not a bastard. That's the different. You are lucky that your mother is a strong and good mother that's why you become what you are now. Congrats to you.

I was raised by an alcoholic/druggie and a co-dependant. I honestly believe that if the co-dependant had raised me by herself I wouldn't have as many of the issues I do. Sometimes one parent is more than enough.

Thanks God it is not Salman Rusdhie's baby. There is chemistry between those two (Tom C. and Padma), but I guess Tom has a wife doesn't he??? Maybe not Tom's.
