· Seconds before the lights dimmed at an NYC screening of Gone Baby Gone, the director, Ben Affleck, whispered, "I'm going to go watch the game," and left to watch his beloved Red Sox lose to the Cleveland Indians.
· British songbird Lily Allen was spotted looking "tired and emotional" during the after-party for Kate Moss' new collection for Top Shop. "Simon Cowell had to help her up," sniffed the onlooker.
· In his new memoir, the guitarist Slash (formerly of Guns ‘N Roses, currently of Velvet Revolver) reveals that he went to rehab after an incident where he hallucinated "an army of [creatures], holding tiny machine guns and weapons that looked like harpoons" — and responded by running through the streets of Arizona naked.
· After dissing Angelina Jolie, Donald Trump takes on George Clooney, telling Larry King that he was expecting Clooney to be "this big, strong guy. And he was very little when I met him."

Holy Sh!t! I saw "Gone, Baby, Gone" tonight and it is not good, it is not great, it is an literal masterpiece. If it had been directed by Martin Scorcese, I would've been blown away. The fact that it was by directed by neophyte director Ben Affleck is beyond description (and comprehension). Yes, is it THAT good. All of the acting in it is simply off the charts, particularly, Casey Affleck, Amy Ryan, Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, and Morgan Freeman. Ben pulled those performances out of them and they are each incredible. The photography and editing are also so crisp and clean, really tight and gorgeous. The writing is also one gem after another. I'd love to have a copy of the script as many of the lines are incredibly well written. This film will be nominated for an Academy Award, as will Casey Affleck and Amy Ryan. It actually reminded me of the early work of Martin Scorcese. It's like handing someone their first brush and canvas, and they paint a Cezanne. Knocked it out of the park. Unreal. Congrats, Ben! Welcome to the A team! Hands down, count me in for your next film.

Academy Award winning writer/director/producer/actor Ben Affleck is so incredibly intelligent and enormously talented. I'm so pleased to see him resuscitate his Hollywood career/s after that Jennifer Lopez circus. Now he's winning awards and critical acclaim with every project he's involved. Ben Affleck hasn't even begun to come into his own professionally - watch and learn. His personal life now is also an inspiration. Ben Affleck is a class act.
Also, I LOVED that he watched the Red Sox game instead! Too funny, LOL!
