Jeff Gordon's wife Ingrid Vandebosch gave birth to the couple's first child today, daughter Ella Sofia Gordon.
In an announcement released on his website, Gordon, 35, said, "It's been an absolutely incredible experience. Ingrid came through amazingly and we're both really happy and overjoyed. We can't wait to get home and start our lives together as a family."
Gordon and Vandebosch, 37, have been married since November 2006.
The four-time NASCAR Cup Series champ won't have much time to adjust to fatherhood, as he resumes his racing commitments this weekend at the Nextel Cup Series race in Northern California.

I too have a baby Ella Sophia. She was born on June 6, 2007...I'm so glad you named your daughter Ella Sophia, you see my Mother -in- law did not like the name but she likes you. Now she likes the name. Good luck and God bless your family.

i got the copy of the USWEEKLY mag that showed the pictures of the couple and their lovely daughter.

as a HUGE jeff gordon fan i want to congradulate jeff and ingrid on the birth of their first daughter!!
i'm really happy little ella came into the world on wednesday cause now jeff doesnt have to skip a race!!! which makes me very happy!!! jeff is having the best season of his career (so far) and little ella is only gonna make him more determined to win more races and the championship this year!! i am soooo proud and honored to be one of jeff's fans!!
