First of all, people who make over $ 250,000 do not pay 28% tax. I gross over $ 250,000 a year and I pay 34% in taxes. I am not sure where you are getting 28%! I do not mind helping people with less, I just do not want to pay over half of what I make in taxes. I work hard and very long hours. I went to school for years! I have a family to support! We do not live out of control and I have taught my family to give back to our community. My children give all year to organization with donations of money and their TIME! It makes me sick every time I hear how he will tax the rich and give to the poor. We give to people less fortunate and we are not rich after all our taxes are taken out. I do not get to see my family as much as I would like because I work all the time. So people need to wake up! If I get taxed more then I will spend less.

any economist will tell you: YOU DON'T RAISE TAXES IN A RECESSION ! McCain wants to cut taxes, but Obama, true to form, wants to RAISE taxes on the people who would provide the much needed jobs.....yes, THE RICH ! They are the ones who have the where-with-all to provide those jobs....the poor never provide the jobs, the people making over the $250,000 cut-off ARE THOSE NASTY RICH PEOPLE ! If taxed they would either pass on the tax to the consumer, or they would lay-off people, or just not hire anyone, thereby raising the unemployment rate.....so Obama's plan WILL NOT WORK. He will be hurting the very people he claims he wants to help.....Naive and clueless is he.

Also, with the Bush Tax Cuts, taxes were increased on a number of our other day to day bills, like our phone bills, gas, electricity, sales tax, what we pay at the pumps, cigarettes, etc.

Just b/c cuts were given doesn't mean we weren't paying.

What a McCain plan would do is just increase these hidden taxes and not outright tax you. Also, with his plan and the health care credit, he takes away the benefit and incentive of benefits being charged pre-tax thus lowering your gross income and the amount taxed, instead all benefits are taxed and on top of that, the assumption is that the $5000 tax credit for health care is supposed to take care of your health care needs for the year, which is unrealistic and is pointed out by leading non-partisan tax and health policy groups.

So again, remember, this nation was founded on the principles of paying taxes, and for the wealthy to pay more, that's the way its been, that's the way its going to be, and no matter who wins, we're paying. It's just a matter of whether or not it will be fair, and it is not fair that the rich pay a lower tax rate than the majority of the population.

It's not a redistribution of wealth, its taxing those who have not been paying their fair share for the past 8 years. Paying taxes is not socialism, it's capitalism, and the way the Bush Admin did it, was by hiding it in your everyday charges. Like all those bogus taxes you pay on your cellular bill, if you don't believe me - go take a look at it, and see the long list of taxes on your phone, electricity, gas, cell phone bills.

Right now the middle class' gross income is taxed 32%, people who make over $250,000 pay 28%. How is that fair? That is what the Bush tax cuts did. They cut taxes for the upper class. Now, Obama's plan is to increase that tax rate to 32% like the rest of us and make it EVEN which is FAIR!!!!!!!

First off - he didn't throw his grandmother under the bus. What he stated was the fact. Can you imagine for his grandmothers sake, raising a half black child in those times? Even though in his book dreams of my father, they loved him with all of their heart and had laid back attitudes towards it - I am sure that it bothered them.

Barack comes from a white mother. He is of mixed heritage. Because of that unfortunately, people who are white will condemn him for being a certain way and blacks will condemn him for not being black enough. It's a double edge sword.

Its funny, because slaves helped to build this country, just as much as the Indians did. I am not sure that Obama gets it. If he gets all of his taxes on people who make 250,000 and over it will be 52%. How is that fair. Doctors go to school for 12 years and have large student loans to pay back. They do not make a lot of money at first. When they do start to make some money they have to work long hours. They have to pay back the student loans and support the familiy. Medicare is crazy right now and insurance companies are too much in charge. They do not get money back from these places quickly and they do not get much when they do get reinbursed. I know Obama says he does not care about CEO's. He needs to worry about how this will effect the economy. It is not just about CEO's. No one is talking about this issue. It is just if you make money then you owe it to everyone who does not. How is that fair to work hard, study hard and still work long hard hours and you have to pay for everyone else? It is just not right. There has to be a better way.

Let WHAT money build? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. How is McCain going to stop spending?? How? There's no way he can not spend as long as we have troops overseas, banks to bailout, lazy citizens who'd rather live on welfare then get a job, illegal aliens to feed, clothe and shelter, and lord knows what else that we haven't even been told about.

The government needs income, how do you suggest they get it? It is acheived largely through tax payers. The more money you make, the more taxes you owe, it's the law of averages. And it's time Joe/Jane Business Owner stops using his/her business to avoid paying taxes that the rest of society has to pay. My husband is self-employed and I admit that we write off ALOT and get it back at the end of the year. He also makes nowhere near the $250k annual income that Obama's plan speaks of, nor do alot of other small businesses. By all accounts, Obama's plan is not going to hurt the true small business owners. It is intended to stop letting the rich get richer by hiding behid tax shelters.
