The Obamas have come to Washington!
Michelle Obama and her daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, made their temporary residence at the luxe Hay-Adams Hotel on Saturday -- a day before they were expected -- the Washington Post reports.
The early arrival gives them time to prep for the first day of school Monday. Both girls will attend prestigious Sidwell Friends, which counts Chelsea Clinton as an alum.

President-elect Barack is expected to join his family in the nation's capitol Sunday from his Chicago hometown, the paper reports.
The Obamas will stay at the Hay-Adams Hotel -- which is just a few blocks away from the White House -- until Jan. 15. Then they'll relocate to the Blair House -- where presidents-elect traditionally stay ahead of the Inauguration (it was booked earlier) -- until moving into the White House Jan. 20.

A small crowd formed outside the Hay-Adams Hotel Saturday to welcome Michelle and the girls after a motorcade was spotted in the alleyway behind the building, and Secret Service took over the lobby, the Post reports.

Prior to arriving in Washington, the Obamas had been vacationing in Barack's native Hawaii.
