CelebNews@Usmagazine.com! - Anne Hathaway: It's "Weird" to Think About Dating Again

In January's Vogue, Anne Hathaway goes shopping in London to replace all the clothes she associates with her ex Raffaello Follieri, who is now serving four years in prison for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering.

"This is harder than I thought," she confesses.

After trying on a vintage Diane von Furstenberg sleeveless wrap dress, the 26-year-old actress -- who has been cozying up to actor Adam Shulman -- remarks, "I can go on a date in this. Oh, my God. That's such a weird thought!"

Hathaway doesn't dish much about Follieri, whom she met when she was 21.

"It wasn't a huge, dramatic breakup," she stresses. "We were in the process of winding it down when he was arrested."

She says she saw the split coming after she bought branches of cherry blossom. They "lasted a month and were beautiful even as they died," she says.

Follieri -- who always liked things "fancier and perfect" -- told their maid to throw the branches out. This was the moment when she knew that "we saw things differently," she says.

After their split, she made several life changes.

With Follieri, she ate meat because it was "easier for the lifestyle at that time," she says.

These days, "I don't eat anything with a face," the vegetarian cracks.

She also got into indie bands Death Cab for Cutie and TV on the Radio. "After my breakup happened, I thought, 'Concerts until the end of the year,'" she says.

Above all else, the actress -- who just scored a Golden Globe nod for Rachel Getting Married -- says she's "realized that the past five years of my life had been spent accumulating things I like but never asked if I love."

In a quote about clothes (that could also apply to her personal life), Hathaway adds, "I'm looking for a pared-down truth."

Of her split, she says, "I don't talk about this, except when I'm asked. It's not a part of my life anymore. It's a complicated situation that has the ability to define me in ways I am not comfortable with."
