Honestly people, give it a rest. I understand why people are upset that their candidate didn't win. The things that were brought up about Pres-Elect Obama were dishearting. It is hard to compare him to any of the other men who have run or won the presidency. Electing an Irish Catholic president was a big thing in the 60's, our leaders have been protestants since England. I don't believe people were still fighting about Kennedy becoming president after he was elected. Pres-Elect Obama is different because although he is bi-racial he is still a black man. He is educated and still a black man. As terrible as it may sound, I am glad that his father was not part of his life. Because if he was directly influenced and raised by a black man. This is 7:40. I grew up on the south side of Chicago by Comisky and lived there my whole life, except for the six years I went to school for my undergrad and masters degrees in Washington D.C. I now live in Hyde Park. I think I know a little bit about Chicago. Where do you live, the 'burbs? Somewhere like Naperville where everyone is rich, white and Conservative? That's not Chicago, honey. Get real.

As far as the crime rate goes, that cannot be pinned on Obama. We have a large police force with a commissioner, a Department of Corrections and state legislators who ought to be the driving force behind lowering the rate of crime in Chicago. You just want to point the finger at someone because it's easy.

And as far as McCain not having to deal with the stress, who cares. If there was any question the job of being president would be too stressful, he had no business running in the first place.

How does anyone know what Obama is going to do, since he hasn't accomplished anything in his entire life. Voting "present" doesn't really account for much. And for Biden..he is just a trainwreck!! 1/2 the country made a mistake and chose the wrong man. Sorry I just got back and saw your last post but not the one previous, So my dear debater, to your questions I say go on Obamas site where he refuted all this slanderous charges that although may have a "grain" of truth it has been mightily exaggerated as all slander is. I recall one that he had pledged on a "koran" when in actuality he pledged on a family heirloom bible... There is always 2 sides to each issue. McCain should have stayed on track and played straight instead of listening to bad advisors and get in the mud. Thankfully, Obama didn't. One should stick with the issues and let all the other stuff slide. What is important is the blueprints of each persons dream, desire, call it what you will of where we as the most powerful country in the world should go. Whether they all come to fruitation or not.
