I totally agree with Brookelyn. There is no excuse for a situion like this. I have dated older men and found out that their at a differnt stage in their life. Justin looks like a sweet man, but we know what he wants at his age and it ain't all cookies and cream. Miley is at an age where she can be manipulated in to sex. And if they do that is considered rape wheather or not she accepted his offer.

I’m not sure why people feel this is a topic open for opinion or interpretation- it’s a felony. Those laws are based on years & years of research & data on human brain development & growth, which does NOT vary form person to person regardless of maturity. This is a documented scientific/psychological FACT, not an opinion. Those laws are there to protect children & there are no exceptions.

Miley may be mature and living in an adult world, but that doesn’t mean she’s ready for it. Despite “good Christian values”, she’s a sexually inexperienced child & he is a sexually experienced adult. Thus, regardless of whether or not it’s intentional, there will be a coercion for her to be on the same adult level as him, whether sexual or not.

If he were such a fabulous moralistic Christian guy, he’d be dating college women, not high school girls who are developmentally still children. Claiming strong values/morals do not excuse someone from obeying a law, but nice twist ;) Too many young girls have suffered from people turning a blind eye like that. This is such a manipulative situation they can’t even be honest about it. Nough said!

It’s hard for a teen to grasp the fact that they are still in the category of attracting pedophilia, b/c they view themselves as adults. I dated older guys when I was her age & now at 24, I can look back and know that they were total scumbags but it took me a good 5-6 years to understand why (hence now having the proper brain development). When you take away all the makeup, fame & image, you have a child who is in no way different developmentally than any other 15 year old! I’m very liberal and non-religious, but I’ve had extensive education on the subject & experience so I have a clear understanding of why it’s never ok. Miley is NOT a bad kid, she just has some BAD advice. Don’t judge Miley. When relations occur between a child and an adult, it is ALWAYS the adult’s fault. ALWAYS.

When your past 18 and your an adult and you date an older guy with in 5 years it is nobig deal, BUT WHEN YOU 15 AND there is a law against it - then it becomes a huge deal. Not to mention if she is claiming to be sweet and innocent and she's not that can be huge. She should be careful. Your all forgetting she is 15!

I am a mother of 3 girls and can't believe the parents who let there kids use Miley aka hannah montanna as a role model. Poor parenting.... this girl is no rolemodel and fame is going to her head. My kids won't spend a dime on her binders, backpacks, clothes , toys etc.
I am proud they have good judgement and know who has it together and who doesn't.... she needs to act her age and stop putting out 1/2 naked pictures on the internet. WHO IS THE ONE TAKING THEM, DADDY CYRUS!

Oh it is a big difference - a difference between jail time or not.... THERE IS NO NEED FOR A 15 year old to be with a 20 yr old.... she is a kid still - not even out of high school! I am a father of 2 girls. I am proud to say that one is older then miley by 4 years and gets tested to be sure she is still a virgin. She is a great kid! I also have another child who is 25 and has a great career and is also saving herself for marriage, they have great heads on there shoulders and they are beautiful girls! I am proud to say i did my job right with them, they love me and there mother and they are glad they got to enjoy being a kid and are healthy. My oldest daughter lost her good friend recently from a abusive boyfriend who claimed he loved her. Obviously so much he killed her. Please parents make sure your kids don't get involved with relationships they get lost in... there lives aren't worth it...

I think that so long as her father is keeping an eye on things, nothing else matters. I see nothing wrong with their age difference so much as I would be a bit leery with him being an adult and she, still a minor. However, as a woman married 11 years to a man 9 years older than me (of which we have 6 kids), age difference is not an issue. I think that as a parent, Billy is more than competent. If he sees this guy going any direction he doesn't approve of, I'm sure we'll be reading the headlines of Billy's confession to murder from his cell with a big giant smile on his face.
Don't forget that Billy is a DAD before he's a performer. That's his little girl. Nobody fools with daddy's little girls! If he says the guy is cool, everybody else should trust his judgment.

I agree, with the above posters. I bet she is pregnant soon! Her dad is an idiot! I agree that years are NOT a big issue when you are an adult!!! NOT when you are not even old enough to drive!!!! My husband is 5.5 years older but I met him when I was 23! It is too bad everyone can see the writing on the wall except for her dim-wit parents!
