Britney Spears' First Husband in Jail

 Splash News Jason Alexander - who was married to Britney Spears for 55 hours in 2004 - was arrested in L.A. Wednesday on a probation violation. As part of his parole stemming from a 2006 DUI arrest, Alexander, 27, was ordered to complete an alcohol education program. According to court papers, a judge sentenced him to 10 days in jail Wednesday after he blew off a second appointment visiting the county morgue. The judge also ordered him to readmit to a six-month alcohol program. He's currently being detained at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California. See Us' mug shot hall of fame. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore told Usmagazine.com Alexander would likely only serve seven days of his sentence because of an early-release program. He's due back in court Feb. 2, 2009 to discuss the progress of his alcohol education program. Alexander and Spears, 27, were childhood friends. They wed in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony in 2004. It is seriously hypocritical that Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, and Khloe Kardashian served, what?, an hour an a half as a consequence for driving drunk. I realize that non-violent offenders get early release due to overcrowding, but really, it wasn't so overcrowded that they couldn't be in there for an hour or two, but then all of a sudden the jail was just bursting at the seams. It just seems weird that certain people get off with hardly a slap on the wrist, while others get a very severe penalty. Don't get me wrong, all of the aforementioned did a really bad thing. It's not okay ever to take drugs or drink and then go driving because you're putting your own lives and the lives of everyone else on the road at risk when you choose to drive when your judgement is impaired by alcohol or drugs.
