The real point is:
What would be considered a violation of her parole. If the probation means that any traffic offense would end up with her facing a Paris then she is wise to fight this.
Imagine her getting 45 days and having to do 23 because she was ticketed for not using a turn signal. She would not be doing jail time for the turn signal but for violating her probation. Who would volunteer to live with that stone around their neck for a year?
The prosecuitor is running for office and using her for publicity, he should have reclused himself from all high profile cases until the election is over. The judge said publically he could not dismiss the case because he did not want to appear to be giving her a break yet it is common practice to do just that.
My dream scenerio is that she gets mad and throws a concert for the prosecuitor's opponent, and invites every friend she has to jump in. I just think it would be great to see one of these Hollywood people take on the corrupt judiciary in Los Angeles.
