You go girl. Christina Applegate is not only one classy lady but a brave and courageous one who opted for the intelligent choice. My thoughts and prayers. Wish now I'd had my own breast removed instead of going through treatment. Would've been far less painful than severe radiation inflammation.

Laura, my grandmother had breast cancer, had a mastectomy and chemotherapy, was declared "cancer free" and then died 5 years later from breast cancer of the other breast. You can bet if I get breast cancer they will both be removed. Why put my family through that twice if I don't need to. If my grandmother had known she had a choice I am sure she would have done that too. And by the way, I am an extremely conservative republican.

Last year, I was diagnosed with carcinoma-in-situ of the cervix. Not full blown cancer, but terrifying anyway. One step away from fighting for my life--and possibly leaving my 3-year-old son motherless. I had a male gynecologist who wanted to treat and them wait 3 months and see if it went away. I work in the medical field, and being very nervous and knowledgable about cervical cancer, I obtained a copy of my pathology report from the first treatment. It showed the carcinoma-in-situ was still present. I told the doctor I wanted a hysterectomy. He said I didn't need one. I got second and third opinions--I was told that because of my medical history, I was at a very high risk for developing full-blown cancer. I wanted more children and didn't want to lose a part of my "femaleness" BUT I had to look at reality--I already had a child who needed his mother to be alive and healthy. I switched doctors and had the hysterectomy. I DO NOT regret my decision one bit.

I admire Christine Applegate tremendously. She is courageous and beyond smart. She can get new breasts--you don't need them. And look at her, she is radiant and stunning--and she won't die from breast cancer!

Christina, you are a hero! To face what you have with grace and dignity as an actress in a field so attached to "beauty". You have shown millions of women and girls that breasts don't make the woman and can be easily replaced. I love your outlook on the whole situation and you have given me the courage to do the same should I be faced with that decision. I was also born without ovaries - but does that make me less of a woman? Hardly. Women are not just children-bearers and breasts - There is so much more to us than that. I am a woman in every sense of the word - mentally and spiritually. I just have to say again - you are a modern day hero. And you look stunning in the icy blue - it goes just beautifully with your hair and eyes. Take your time to find a good surgeon who will do you proud, girl. And stand in the mirror and be proud of who you are!

MSNBC-WASHINGTON - The FBI searched the residence of the son of a Democratic state lawmaker in Tennessee over the weekend looking for evidence linking the young man to the hacking of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's personal e-mail account, two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press on Monday.

David Kernell, 20, has not returned repeated phone calls or e-mails from the AP since last week. He is the son of state Rep. Mike Kernell, a Memphis Democrat and chairman of Tennessee's House Government Operations Committee. The father declined last week to discuss the possibility his son might be involved in the case.

Hmmm...perhaps if you pretend it doesn't exist, it will go away!

I personally think that you are probably the dumbest person I have ever encountered in my lifetime!! Obvisouly she had both removed due to the fact that she wanted to LIVE cancer free. Did you know that 60 percent of patients who have been diagnosed with cancer have a chance of it coming back? And what sickens me is people like you that really don't understand an inch of reality...keep living in dreamland honey!

She is a very courageous woman. She looked incredibly beautiful.

Christina looks beautiful. I am in admiration and stand behind her in her decision to have both breasts removed. In light of her being at high risk for breast cancer, it took a lot of courage to make this decision. She will be fine, and God bless her.

To 11:00/Laura: If I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I would do the exact same thing, regardless of what stage I was in. Lop them off! They're only breasts - easily replaced with cosmetic surgery. They definitely aren't worth my life. One ounce of prevention = one pound of cure. Good for Chris for not being so attached (and confident enough in her femininity) that she risked her life to look 'Hollywood'.

Don't be too shocked by a McCain/Palin landslide. Many people are saying and displaying Obama, to be politically correct, but in fact are NOT voting for him.
