Christina Applegate: I'm Ready to Be Hugged Again!

On Friday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, Christina Applegate says she didn't tell anybody on the set of her ABC sitcom Samantha Who? about her breast cancer diagnosis for five weeks.

"I told my make-up and hair people, and people that are really close to me, just so I had a protection wall so that no one was pushing me," said Applegate, 36. Joking, she added, "because they do that a lot on my set. They just shove me ... just randomly for no reason."

These days, Applegate told DeGeneres, she's doing "so much better" than when she saw her at the "Stand Up to Cancer" benefit in September.

"I was really ... afraid of people hugging me," she said. "People are really huggy at those things."

Replied DeGeneres (whose mom is also a breast cancer survivor), "I apologize, I hugged you."

"Really hard too!" Applegate joked. "But know, I’m good. I’ll grab ya."

Said DeGeneres, "I'm going to hug you a bunch during this commercial break...."
