He has not been anointed. How about all you borderline pathological psychos take a deep breath and let the man do his job w/o putting such unrealistic expectations on him? He is faced with the worst situation probably in the history of this country. It's going to take hard work, sacrifice, and few missteps to right this country. It's nice that you're excited. But please be realistic and don't expect this man to work miracles. Do your part and let him do his job without all the hype. Please. He needs your help, not your wild dreams.

I also have no problem calling Mr. Obama on any unfulfilled promises, any broken promises, anything sketchy or something that doesn't meet with my approval. That is the beauty of our country. Unlike the Bush bashers, I won't make it personal. I will give Mr. Obama all the respect that that office commands, and I will sincerely hope for his success. If, however, he does not measure up on any count, I will be hear voicing my concerns and my opinions. It is the responsibility of every concerned American to do so. Mr. Obama doesn't get a pass because he's the first African-American president. I am African-American also. We all are. Africa is where our species began. So I don't consider him being African-American any big deal. It certainly doesn't require we treat him with any different set of rules or regulations we would any other president. Dear Sick, the reason people care is because Obama is the President of the United States, not the world. He should be represented on this momentous occasion by other AMERICANS. I know he is a Kenyan-American and all that, but his own aunt was here ILLEGALLY. He should be a little more careful of his associations, starting with who he picks to entertain him at his inauguration. I am so glad to hear Beyonce was performing. I had read she really wanted to perform but it was not confirmed and thought to myself he has to have Beyonce perform. I love watching Beyonce perform and I know she will do something extra special for our new president. I know she and Jay-Z contributed to the campaign by doing free shows and getting the word out. Beyonce is so deserving and I am so looking forward to her performance more then anyone else's. This actually makes it worth while for me.

HBO is doing this on their own, this is not an official event. These are the ones who didn't get invited to perform like Beyonce, thank God.

I think that all of you people that are hating on the President elect Obama should just relax. Whether we like him or not he will still be running this country and there is nothing we can do about it. Let's just hope that he will do a good job.

Who is paying for all this? They say it's free, but there is a TON of money associated with the cost of producing all these parties and balls and whatnot. This is an egregious waste of taxpayers' money at a time when our economy is suffering and people are losing their houses, jobs, and life's savings. I don't care what party you are (I'm an Independent who voted for Ron Paul and proud of it!!), you should be up in arms about this. The costs of providing security, port-a-potties, clean up, et cetera are going to cost us at a time when we can ill-afford it. Mr. Obama needs to start walking the walk. We've all heard the talk. And this is starting to concern me.
