Someone on here commented that she looked like Eartha Kitt, and you're right. The picture looks more like Eartha Kitt than Condoleeza. I'ts definitely not CR. You can put that one in a dress, but you couldn't improve on her THAT much. Come on, people!

I agree, paintergirl! Condoleza Rice is no model black woman, and Michelle doesn't need her endorsement. I really don't need to hear anything she has to say on any topic. Condi just needs to move her disgraceful rear out of Washington and go disappear, so I can forget that she existed. Michelle is a fine lady, and I will be happy to have her to erase all the ugly, snarling, angry Condoleza photos of this last administration.

It does NOT appear to me that physical "beauty" is an attribute prevalent among American First Ladies. SO, why are WHITE PEOPLE (esp.white women)making such a big issue of it when it comes to Michelle Obama who IS a beautiful woman & looks better than many of her predecessors(Eleanor Roosevelt, Bess Truman, Mamie Eisenhower, Lady Bird Johnson, Rosalyn Carter, Bette Ford, Barbara Bush, Nancy Reagan, Hiliary Clinton, etc). With the exception of Pat Nixon, Jackie Kennedy & Michele Obama, most of the First Ladies look all right & then the rest are out-right homely.

Speaking of Jackie Kennedy: Back in her day, many fashion/society critics did not consider her a "beauty." They claimed her lips were too full, she was slightly bow-legged, & her eyebrows were too heavy. As a matter of fact, one fashion critic complained that her features were more "Negroid" than "European".

As for the comparison between First Lady Michelle Obama & Condoleeza Rice-please! Michelle Obama has just as much tact and diplomacy as Condi PLUS she's MARRIED AND HAS A FAMILY! Go compare apples with apples!

Maybe independent voters would have preferred Condi, but wouldn't have had the same impact in the base of the rep party that Palin touched so deeply.

I still can't understand how she could convince anyone of anything... that woman was unbelievable... but she did.

mind you, cynics would have said McCain only picked her because she was black and a female-so it would have been a no win situation

but as with Obama, critics would have not said much against her for fear of being labelled racist-or sexist-but the great of being called racist is something that most careers don't survive-that's why everyone was afraid to really confront Obama strongly on anything and he got the soft treatment
