Courteney Cox: I've Had Botox - and "I Hated It!"

I think it's fantastic and also horrible," she tells November's Marie Claire. "I mean, they've come up with this stuff that can make you not look angry. But you have to use it sparingly. "I went to this doctor once," Cox, 44, continues, "and he was like, 'Oh, let me do it just here and here and here.' And I was miserable. She explains, "I mean, I'm an actor, I've got to be able to move my face. When people start messing with their foreheads and can't lift their eyebrows, that's weird. It's not that I haven't tried Botox - but I hated it." Luckily, Cox says, "I'm under pressure to not do anything." Plastic surgery, she adds, isn't "really important" to her husband of nine years, David Arquette. See Courteney and David's wedding photos! "He loves the aging process. He thinks it's beautiful," she says in the magazine. "It's weird, because I'm so in love with David right now," Cox says. "I'm starting to really appreciate how 'there' he is for me. She looks good! I don't understand doing that to your face! I am soon to be 44 & I have a few crow's feet. I plan on growing old gracefully. The idea of looking like Nicole Kidman or Meg Ryan is not for me. Both used to be so pretty! Now, they look frozen! Secondly, I am a nurse & I have seen many a new mom go home in their pre pregnancy jeans! They had NO surgical intervention so it can happen trust me!

That cover is terrible. Look at the way the head is on the body.. And that does not even look like her right hand. Why can't the person in real life be the person on the cover. Secondly why is Angelina being trashed here. Every-one's body is different. I have friends who had a baby and the next day you would not have known, but there it was breast feeding. We as women eat our own. We can be so catty and ugly to and about each other. Angie is a woman who had done great things, and who has made mistakes. Life is all about what you do next. What happened to women supporting each other. So sad.

It's nice to hear her admit it...both that she got it and that it looked like crap. You could tell on "Dirt" that she looked freaky. What usually happens with Botox is that the muscles around & above the mouth don't move right. It's freaky as hell. Jen Aniston had something done to get rid of her laugh/smile lines (or at least reduce them). She doesn't look scary, so maybe it's not botox. It's tough to condemn women in Hollywood because the standards are ridiculous. You have to have zero bodyfat and no wrinkles. Unless you're under 30, it's virtually impossible. I think Valerie Bertinelli or Carnie Wilson said something to the effect of, "When you're really skinny your face ages horribly." It's true. With no fat, things like your hands and your face look awful as you age. That's why people have fat injected into aging hands. There's something to be said for really cool women who somehow find a way to age and be sexy and as hell doing it: Diane Lane

Botox is not "all or nothing". A good dermatologist would put just a little so that you can still move your forehead but the lines are less visible. Think Vanessa Williams, NOT Nicole Kidman.

On one hand I applaud Courtney for acknowledging using botox because there are alot of celebs out there denying it in the face of reality (Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger, Meg Ryan, Sharon Stone, Katie Couric, Madonna, on and on and on...) but on the other hand, I'm seriously doubting she's given it up. Maybe she's using it more sparingly but I still think she's using it. Regardless, can you imagine Kate Hepburn, Angela Landsbury, Lauren Bacall, Grace Kelly, etc. trying to make it in Hollywood today? I think all those women really embraced their years and looked fabulous no matter their age. I think now women use botox out of vanity AND out of a fear of losing work. For me in the corporate world I worry too, but sunscreen, sunglasses and lots of water has (remarkably) kept me looking maybe seven or on a good day ten years younger than 37. Either that or I'm deluding myself!
