Californication's Evan Handler is sending his well wishes to David Duchovny, who entered treatment for sex addiction last month.
"The most I can say is that I hope he’s doing really well -- and I heard he is doing really well," Handler told Usmagazine.com at a DVD launch party for the Sex and the City movie in NYC Thursday. "I can’t wait to go back on the set because the work experience is the best one that I’ve had."
With the new season of the Showtime series debuting September 28, Handler told Us "David is astonishingly good, as always."
Will he be at the next week's premiere? "I have no idea whether I’ll see him there or not," he said.
But Duchovny, 48, will soon head back to work after.
He has signed on to star in the family drama The Joneses, alongside Demi Moore, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The story revolves around a picture-perfect family that moves to the suburbs and immediately becomes the toast of the town.
Turns out, they are a commissioned fake family put together by a marketing company as a way to introduce new luxury-level products to neighborhoods around the world.
Duchovny plays the fake father, "a man undergoing a crisis of confidence because he is living a lie," according to the Reporter.
Moore takes on the role as the career-driven mother, who struggles with her growing feelings toward Duchovny.
