DJ AM: I'm "the Luckiest Guy Alive"

 Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage.com A week after surviving a plane crash that took the lives of four people, DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, has been released from Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. "Adam Goldstein is the luckiest guy alive," he wrote in Facebook status update on Friday. "While he is deeply saddened by the events he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends world wide," his rep said in a statement on Friday. "We ask that you continue respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends." The 35-year-old, was being treated at the hospital's Joseph Still Burn Center for second- and third-degree burns. Actress Mandy Moore, his ex, was seen buying a get well gift for him at Mr. Ballon and Cookies by Design in West Hollywood on Thursday. Moore had flown to Georgia to be by AM's side as he and Travis Barker, the sole survivors of the small jet crash in South Carolina Friday night, were treated for burns. Both are expected to make full recoveries. "It was divine intervention that they got out," Lt. Jason Shumpert of the South Congaree Police Department told the Associated Press on Wednesday. "They should be commended for being able to get out and keep their heads together." The pilot and co-pilot died of smoke inhalation and burns while Barker and AM's pals Chris Baker and Charles Still died of impact-related injuries. Barker's ex-wife Shanna Moakler, with whom he's back together, said of the accident: "Our lives will be changed forever." Shumpert described the scene after the fiery plane hit an embankment upon takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. He said Barker was screaming from second- and third-degree burns. "They said the plane went down," Shumpert recalled. "They didn't say how or if they knew. Once it went down, they were able to slide down the wing of the plane, and they jumped on each other to put fires on each other out and rolled around on the ground." Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board have not determined the cause of the crash but the Learjet's black box indicated the crew knew one of the plane's tires had blown. Try showing some pictures of your burns, now that would be interesting who cares what you have to say, didnt care before the accident and really dont care now! Keep in mind everyone, while you are getting angry at these men for not attributing their miraculous survival to God, that not everyone believes in God... So, stop being judgemental because they did not " Thank God, " for being alive..I wouldn't either as I do not believe in God or any kind of God.. I am glad to hear they are both doing well now...

I saw some recent pictures of DJ AM and he looks pretty good. His neck and a couple of fingers appeared to be burned, but his face is in good shape, barely anything on it.

If you think about it 4 other people died in that crash and most people only talk about Travis and DJ AM. These other four people had families and friends and just may have been the reason Travis and DJ AM survived. I've been reading articles that "they saved theirself" I was like thats sad to hear when everyone with half a brain know they had help wheter from God or their lost friends or both they still had help.

It is sad that people think God "chose" not to save the other 2. God is the only one that knows why the other 2 died, maybe the 2 that went learned all they were going to in this world and DJ AM and Travis Barker may still have lessons to learn, including who to really thank for their survival.

Sounds like they had already passed before Travis and AM got out.

Everyone has a right to their opinion! Why are some people such cynics? I too believe that divine intervention took place for Travis and Adam. It is sad that the others died. These two have been given a 2nd chance. I hope the appreciate it and live life to it's fullest.

I imagine that he is feeling very lucky. Luck and other things could have had plenty to do in his surviving this. I wouldn't read to much into it yet, he's just thankful he's alive.

9:14 Bella.......For the record, it was the police officer that said it was "divine intervention", not DJ AM. There was no "hatred" in the previous posts...just an opinion that this phrase could be very hurtful to the victim's families and even to the survivors. It's a phrase that's always gotten under my skin as well because it sounds like those who survived were more worthy in some way. That's all...no hatred...just an opinion. Nobody was picking on your God.
