I think regifting is a great idea. Haven't you ever heard that "One man's trash is another man's treasure"? My family and friends are even going to have a regift party next year. All year long we are going to save the things we receive for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. that we cannot use and on Dec. 6, 2009 we are all going to have a big party and put all our stuff on tables and exchange gifts. It will be a blast. Anything that is left over goes to charity. This is our way of helping save the planet as well as money. With the economy like it is, next holiday season may be worse.

I regift on occasion, and there's nothing wrong with it, and it's certainly NOT trashy. What is the problem with giving something to someone when you have no need for it? Just regift appropriately and it's perfectly fine. No one is saying you should regift a bunch of junk found in your attic or basement, but regifting brand new items that you don't really need is perfectly fine. I cannot mention how many things I get for Christmas or any occasion that I don't really need that I already have 1 or 2 of, so I'll regift it and give it to someone else. I've regifted clothes (like a Cashmere sweater or jacket {everything is brand new}) that were either too small or too big, but of course leaving the clothing in it's proper box with the tag still attatched and never worn.

One year for Christmas a friend gave both my sister and I the same perfume, I was able to smell hers because she had opened her box, and I didn't really care for the scent, but my sister loved it. So I regifted it and gave it to a cousin of mine and she just loved it. The perfume was still in its packaging and in the box, everything was intact and never used, so why not give it to someone that can use it? better then throwing it away.

It's always a nice gesture of someone to give you something and I'm always thankful, but I never want to tell that person otherwise and hurt their feelings. Regifting doesn't happen every year with me, and if I regift something I ALWAYS go out and purchase another gift to go along with it, so I'm not stingy or anything. Giving is what it's all about. If someone has more use for it then I do, that's great.

I think it's tacky to regift.

Re-gifting is fine as long as its not a used product. Anyway, his daughter is a little cutie...They do seem like nice people.

The best presents a family like this (or any family) can give one one another are time, love, attention (Presence for Presents!) They don't need more material goods, and if they did they could go out and purchase them on their own. Attention to relationships is what is meaningful and lasting. Consumerism is plastic and cheap.

I think re-gifting new, nice items that you do not need is fine, and not wasteful! I mean, it is not the same as giving something you have used as if it is a brand-new gift!

I am guilty of regifting as well. I was given a gorgeous candle set for Xmas the year my daughter was 1. I LOVE candles but wouldn't use them with her running all over the place so I gave it to my grandmother for her birthday and she loved them. As long as your not regifting junk, it's fine. My husband got a wine opener last year from a co worker but we already have one. This year it's being regifted along with a bottle of wine. I have received some bad presents as well but those I save for a garage sale or I will just pass along if someone wants it.

Regifting is fine when done correctly. My MIL gave me some very nice cologne, I like it, just not on me. I left it in its original packaging and gave it to my daughter and she loves it. We were given some wine from a very good winery, we don't drink red wines. We will find someone to give it to. It is still in its original packaging and the new receiver will not know we didn't buy it. Do it RIGHT and its not a problem.

I like Donald Trump Sr. I think he is a good father who taught his kids well. They are not spoiled brats living off of him but are working and productive. You have to give him credit for that.

Yeah, so do I. Regifting is just plain tacky whether you're rich or poor. That's like regurgitating a meal you just ate, putting it on a silver platter and then serving it back to the person who cooked it for you in the first place. Blah! Aside from that, Donald Jr. sounds like an alright guy. Don't know about the whole "Trumps don't change diapers" thing though. That's not cool.

He's not good looking at all. She and the baby are beatiful though. Yeah I would like to know if he's ever changed a diaper. How can you have kids with a guy who wont even change a diaper? Not a real man he is.
