I guess my question is, who CARES if this guy (whoever he is, other than being her ex) is proud of her? This is supposedly newsworthy?

How wonderful it is that, because of what happened to her, people are becoming more aware," he told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at the Building a Greater LA benefit for Habitat for Humanity. "She is stepping out. She was on Oprah. She is making an effort to make everyone aware of everything that she learned from this - how to prevent and save lives," Schaech said. He added, "She is not a superhero - nobody is - but she is beating this." See how other stars are fighting back against breast cancer. Despite divorcing in 2005, Schaech says he and Applegate still "e-mail and text." In 2007, they famously made out at a Hollywood club. She may not be a Superhero but she is a Super Women and as far as I'm concerned Jonathan Schaech totally lost out on a very decent and smart women. If he were any kind of man he would have said she was a Super Women and NOT say she isn't a Superhero. This guy is lame. Thank you Christina. God Bless.

oh no he didn'...oh yes he did just give her a backhanded compliment...he could've gotten by with just saying that "like many brave women battling breast cancer, she is beating this"...rather than negating it with that "not a super-hero" remark....grrrr....

I take his comment as - even though she is famous, she isn't a super hero, she is just like everyone else in this world. She beat Cancer and like the rest of us non-famous people, we work at it everyday and can beat it too. He is a super sweet guy and would never have a mean word to say about her.

Every woman who gets breast cancer, fights it and wins IS a superhero!! How would he feel if he had part of his manhood removed?? What a way to get some attention, especially since you haven't done anything significant acting wise in quite some time.
