Fantasy Island Star Dies

Mexican actor Ricardo Montalban died Wednesday. He died of natural causes, reports Radar.

Known for his role as Mr. Roarke on the TV series, Fantasy Island, Montalban's career in film spanned decades and included a 1978 Emmy award for his performance in How the West Was Won as well as a Tony award nomination in 1958 for the musical, Jamaica.

Most recently, he gave his voice to Disney's Kim Possible animated series and to an episode of Family Guy. He had also appeared in Bonanza, Star Trek and Murder, She Wrote.

What a TRUE gentleman and class act!

He was married to his beloved wife for 63 or 64 years. She died last year, and he said that "She was the only love of my life". Wow, I hope that my husband and I feel that way towards the end of our lives.

I never read anything negative about him. Everything I ever read said he was truly kind and a gentleman. Married to the same woman since 1945. Raised a family. Given so many of the folks we see in these mags in Hollywood these days, I'd say he was a rareity.

For the person asking how old he was, he was 88. Looked really good for his age. I heard he was always so nice to people when they would approach him. I think he had an actors studio or at least taught a class somewhere, too. He will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear this. He was a great actor and a gentleman from what I have read, and an inspiration to the Hispanic community as well. He was awesome as Khan! He had so much talent, he could do such different roles and bring value to it like no one else could. This is a great loss to the industry and to America. He will be missed.
