It's Official: Whitney Port Gets Reality Show!

As Usmagazine.com first reported, The Hills star will headline MTV's The City, which will track her journey from Los Angeles to New York City, the network announced Thursday. The show is set to air next spring. According to the release, Port, now a Diane Von Furstenberg employee, reunites with "a best friend from her past" and meets "a guy she's head-over-heels for." "Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose," the release reads. "In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from." See baby photos of your favorite Hills stars. In a statement, Port said: "I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally." you people leave whitney alone. sure shes not the type to steal the show because shes starved for attention, but she is kind, beautiful and graceful- who wouldnt want to watch that? i think shes a good role model for young women. im worried shell get eaten alive in new york b/c shes so sweet. whitney- you do the damn thang girl.

I think it will be great. Oh and by the way guys this is the First Hills spinoff... The hills was a spinoff from Laguna but there hasn't been any spinoffs from the hills. Just wanted to point that out. Now if they gave Heidi and Spencer a show that would be stupid but Whitney in a new city it will be cool to see.

Whitney is boring, it won't last. The Hills is popular because it's a guilty pleasure, drama, fashion, gossip, etc. It's a 30 min fix of "how the other half lives" and Whitney and her NYC adventure is too blah.

Why is everyone hating on Whitney so much? She is my favorite one on the Hills--she is the most level-headed person on the show, seems like a genuinely good person, and only comes off as boring and bland because the producers of the Hills include her only in the most mundane capacity--giving LC feedback on her "problems." I think this new show will really highlight her positive attributes.
