Jay-Z will not be performing at the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, but he will still be making an appearance the night before the event, reports The Associated Press.
The rapper will take the stage for a concert in Washington, D.C., on the eve of the event. He will perform for a crowd of less than 2,000 people at the Warner Theatre.

Jay-Z and his wife, Beyonce Knowles, are both major Obama supporters. After Obama was elected back in November, Knowles offered to sing at the inauguration festivities.

"I feel like all of us, we're ready to do whatever we have to do," she said. "Whatever they want -- if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready."
