VIDEO: Jennifer Aniston Gives Letterman Same Tie From GQ Shoot
Wednesday December 17, 2008

On Wednesday's Late Show With David Letterman, a Valentino-clad Jennifer Aniston surprised the late night talk show host with the same striped Brooks Brothers tie from her nearly naked January GQ cover.

"This is an early Christmas present," she said as she handed him the box.

When Letterman put the tie on, it was too short, and he jokingly asked her if she bought it in the boy's department.

Laughing, Aniston replied, This is "a historic moment in my career."

Was it tough for her to strip down for the cover?

Nah.

"As you get older, you get more comfortable in your own skin," she said. "Feeling good inside leads to feeling good outside."

(When Letterman pulled out Aniston's December Vogue cover -- which featured her Angelina Jolie is "uncool" quote -- she rolled her eyes.)

Asked about her personal life, Aniston said, "I think it's all been said at this point."

Letterman then briefly put Aniston on the hot seat about beau John Mayer.

"I know who you're dating," he said.

"How do you know that to be true? No, I'm kidding," she played along.

"He was lovely on your show," she then said of his Thanksgiving performance, calling it "beautiful. It really kicked off the holiday sprit."

Where did they meet, Letterman then asked her.

"We met at a party," she said

What kind of party?

"It was costume party. No. But that would've been funny," she said. "It was one of those yearly things."

Who threw the party?

"I don't remember. I was getting shuffled around. It was Bryan Lourd, who is one of the big wigs at CAA."

Letterman then dropped the questions and told her he just wanted her to be happy.

The next morning, Aniston popped by ABC's Good Morning America, where she talked about turning the big 4-0 next year.

"It feels like a great time," she said. "I've heard when women say it just gets better, and I really believe that to be true.

Can you believe these stars are in their 40s?

"I didn't have half as much fun in my 20s as I'm having now," she says. "Youth is wasted on the young."

Her holiday plans?

"To be here in New York," she said. "I haven't been here in the december time in so many years. This is where I grew up, and I'm going to go back home, though. I'm going to milk this as long as I can."
