My heart goes out to the Travolta family. I cannot fathom the pain of losing a child. It was obvious that the family had a deep, loving bond. It is my hope that if anyone was in any way, even partially responsible for this death, that those are brought to justice. I don't care if they are the doctors, the Scientologist community who promotes this careless lifestyle, caretakers, or even the parents themselves. This child did not have to die.

The citizens of Ocala, Florida are a great example of how we should love
and respect our neighbors regardless of whom they may believe in or what
position or status they may have in our society.
It brings me great pleasure and lightens my heart to know that the Travoltas
are loved and cherished.
That this community has managed to surround them at this time their hour
of need, with loving concern, safeguarding their privacy and providing s show
of solidarity is a testiment of how they consider the Travolta family one of their own!
Yes, it is one of lifes most tragic events to happen to a parent.
My hat is off to you Ocala! May other communities be fortunate enough to
show the style, grace and class you all have.
My thoughts and prayers are for my loving John, Kelly and Ella.

I have also suffered the loss of a child, my 18 year old son and have also had to deal with disrespectful media attention and bloggers. Anyone who comments negatively, all I can say is one day you will be judged and you certainly aren't perfect, no one is. I love my chilldren more than anything in this world and I am sure John and Kelly did everything they felt was best for Jett. It is a horrific loss, one no one should ever have to endure. It affects every aspect of your life. As far as the celebs who say they are the Travolta's good friends but didn't attend due to scheduling conflicts, they won't be good friends for long and I have lost all respect for such celebs. I'm so sorry John, Kelly and Ella that you have to suffer such pain. It is indeed heartbreaking and hard to survive.

I had no idea they did that until a few years ago, someone telling me about that. Apparently it is fairly common.

My husband was cremated and buried in a national cemetary this summer. Some people wait several years to bury their loved ones from what I saw on the markers.

Perez Hilton is the worst scumbag media bloggers of all. He pretends to be heartfelt and soooo sincere about this story. He is so two faced. I just want to say that the media keeps referring to Jett as John Travolta's son. He is also Kelly Preston's son. She is his mother and deserves to be recognized. As a mother, my heart goes out to them both, but remember he has two parents. My thoughts and prayers to both of them.

I think the media has been horrible to the Travolta family. This is a horrible tragedy and the media is just not showing respect to this situation. Who cares what celebrities show up to the funeral. All that matters is that their family and true friends are their to support them. The Travolta family only needs love and support during this time, not all the rediculous media coverage. Shame on a lot of the media for their coverage of this trajedy. Give this family the distance they need from the rumors circulating, the rediculous coverage of what the Travoltas are doing, and what celebrities are involved. I wish that there were more respectable media outlets.

It is really sad to me how many comments there are about "celebrities attending" or "celebrities not attending." Did it ever occur to those of you who are so obsessed with this topic, has it never occurred to you that some of the Travolta family's close "celebrity" friends may not be attending in order to avoid a paparrazi scandel, in order to respect that they do want it to be a private day.

When I was a girl, my Bishop died. The then president, Papa Bush, decided to attend, having only met the man once. Because he attended, my mother and many other friends of the family could not pay their respects to the family ... security and all. This man never considered the impact of his appearance accept as a photo op. My mother had known my Bishop since she was in college. I went to school with his children and we dined and his house regularly. He was a great mentor to me. Yet, my mother could not pay her respects because a "celebrity" decided to attend the funeral and did not ensure that the sanctity of the service was upheld.

Perhaps you should look at the Travolta family's "celebrity" friend as truly respecting Jett's life and the need for the family to have a truly private service and farewell.

What the media says is not always the truth, don't we all know that by now? Why do we care who attends or does not the funeral? This is not your family, they are not your friends. I am sure that John and Kelly were and are fabulous parents. They had a child that had challenges and who are you to say how they medically dealt with Jett or didn't? YOU DON"T KNOW THEM!
Lay off the Travolta's, let them grieve and deal with the loss of their first born child. Leave their religion out of it. Let them be and carry their burden for a while.

What is wrong with you people! What do you mean they shouldn't be sad. THEY JUST LOST THEIR CHILD! Obviously, many of you haven't lost anyone close to you! You people are crazy, do you think they care about anything right now other then they have to say goodbye to their child, their only son! I doubt they care if Oprah shows up or not, "Wait we have to postpone the funeral, Oprah's gonna be late!" I don't really think so. OMG!!!! Are people concerned about what celebrities showed up to the Wake (ceremony) at the funeral? Let's be at least human to this. A Mother and Father lost their son. It was not to Scientology, it was not to child neglect. It was do to a rear medical condition and if are trying to start negative conversation on this post you really need help. Just because celebrities associate with each other and work with each other does not mean they will attend a family funeral. How many of your co-workers will come to your family member funeral when she dies? You do work close with them right?
